Stayed with John & Sue on 5th/6th Aug as we were attending a family 25th Wedding Anniversary. I'm so pleased I found this lovely B&B, the location is beautiful and peaceful and the rooms are very comfortable. I must say that the breakfast is second to none, everything was cooked to perfection. Thank you for letting us stay at your home we all had a lovely time and will stay again when is the area.

I stayed for 4 nights recently, having checked the reviews on Trip Advisor, and I wasn't disappointed. Beautiful, peaceful location, lovely owners, delicious breakfasts, great room... I would certainly come to The Alders again and can thoroughly recommend it!
Lovely little spot...

We stayed here for 2 nights over the weekend with friends for a wedding in Sherborne. Great place, spotlessly clean, beautifully quiet, friendly hosts and a fabulous breakfast with a choice to suit your appetite. What more could you want or need? Excellent value too. A typical English B&B and feels good to patronise a small local business with people who clearly work very hard to provide a lovely 'home from home' for their guests. Definitely recommend for country lovers.
Very comfortable in lovely surroundings

It's not often that you stay in a lovely village location where everything is undertaken by the very attentive owners, John & Sue - they even built the house. Beautiful clean and comfortable accommodation, tea and coffee room facilities with fresh milk, attractive gardens and an excellent breakfast. In fact, everything you would want from an overnight stay! Try the local pub, The Mitre, for an evening meal - you will not be disappointed.
Short stay

We were house hunting in the area and decided on the Alders because of previous reviews. We were not let down as we were warmly greeted by the owners and were soon in our room with little delay. The room was cosy and had everything we needed with a comfortable king size bed, coffee and tea making facilities with tasty biscuits as an added nicety. We walked to the local pub and needed the torch which was provided but the five minute walk was worth it as the pub was welcoming with two blazing fires. The drinks were just right and the meals were good. On the way back we were astounded by the number of stars we could see (londoners - so we suffer from too much street lighting). The breakfast on the following morning was excellent with fruit/creals to start followed by a full English which was cooked to perfection with superb scrambled eggs. If we go back to this area we will certainly try to book again but I imagine they are very popular.
