We stayed here 4 times and we loved it!!!
We had a family room for 4 people (1bunk,2twin), sink in room, bathroom in the hallway and kitchenette for all guests to use. We left our groceries in the big fridge in a knotted up plastic bag, that way we could save at least one meal per day. Everything is in walking distance. You don't need a rental car since the public bus hub is right around the corner. Iceland is a relativ pricy vacation spot and with kids wanting to horseback ride, whale watching, golden circle, lagoon, shopping down town, saga museum..... Let's just say: the budget was used up fast.
The 101Guesthouse is offering breakfast but it is served in the house across from the hotel and it is not in the room price included. In the same building is a restaurant offering breakfast (more expensive) but they are NOT part of the Guesthouse.
The rooms are bright and most of them are to the street. Since this is a busy place it also is a bit noisy. It didn't bother us thought. We were to worn out to be bothered.
This would be a place i would want to come back to, when we travel alone. To spend a week for a music festival. Or just spend some time visiting the Harpa to see concerts and theater performances.
We just fell totally in love with Iceland,

Like for the perfect location, just cross the road to main (shopping) street, close to HallgrÃmskirkja church and restaurant. All local tour pick up point there and one convenience shop open 24 hours. Actually, room is tidy but something would be improved. Bedding is too soft, you may fall when lay down. Kitchen is big enough for 10 people stay but too noisy when all people there and poor manage for their food. Toilets and showers are separated but need to wait if full booked of the room since only one showers room is opened. Last, the passageway is very noise, sound insulation need to enforce.

It does not look very good from the outside but the rooms are nice and clean. Comfortable beds, bathroom large enough, the breakfast room does not look nice and tidy but the choice of meals is rather good. Reasonable price. Near the center.

We stayed in room 304. It was a perfect, clean and spacious room for a family of four. Close to kitchen and restrooms/showers. The hostel was very close, within walking distance to the shops and restaurants. Bus stop number 9 was across the street and number 10 was right next to the building. Would recommend to friends

its not far from center, 10 minutes walk. Rooms to the street are loud, even when festival there and there get celebrated all night. kitchen is clean, shower with no window, in my room washbasin only but light not runing, so preparing difficult. IN shower no light, smaller things to improve, relativly clean, but new carpets needed. in general ok. pl. give a "help" when you like my review. to cathedral and harbour 15 min.walk. its relativly expansive.
