the owner don't have empathy with customers, bad humor..
the room is old(blue carpet is blench, the privte bathroom is really small and could be sink from the shower - don't have proteccion on the floor for wtaer doesn't escape), water shower has a strong smell.)
the beds and heater are ok, best thing is location(but there ae more hotels around)
of course, problem with my collect in crdit card, they never collect the real amount.
Good location but also its downfall

Reasonably priced by Icelandic standards and theoretically in a good location.
The hotel is advertised with "onsite" parking on booking.com. This is not available, parking is on street and metered. Not too expensive but not as advertised and not always available near the hotel.
The room smelt like a sewer, which on the first day the staff had attempted to overpower with bleach, so much so that it made our eyes water. We had to keep the bathroom door shut and the window open all the time. This became a real issue as it made the nightly street noise even worse and it continued until 4am on the Friday and Saturday nights. As a result we got little sleep those nights.
The room and beds are tiny, too small to swing a hamster let alone a cat. Taller, larger people should probably avoid.
There is no lift which might deter older people and certainly those with mobility problems. We were however offered help with bags on our arrival.
The TV had no reception which was a known fault according to staff but again not as advertised.
We had free fast wifi on our floor but a guest on the floor below could not get access.
Behind the hotel is the excellent Loki cafe which we recommend highly, particularly the rye bread Icecream, which sounds terrible but was actually delicious. The incredible Hallgrimskirkja church is also very close and also a good place to park at night if the street parking is full.
Dirty, uncomfortable, rude owner.

The only good thing was the location. The rest was just crap. Dirty bed linen (!). One couldn't sit upright on the toilet because the sink was in the way. We wanted to rent a car but the owner told us to come in 2 hours because he was watching TV. I travel a lot and this was by far the WORST place I've ever stayed at.
WORST STAY EVER

Whatever you do, don't stay here. I've stayed in motels in developing countries better than this so-called hotel in central Reykjavik.
In this dump, it's all about horrible customer service from first contact on. From the minute I arrived, I was made feel like a burden, made to carry all luggage upstairs myself- which totally would have been cool if the guy wouldn't also have made me open all doors for him, too as he just stood there and watched me cater to him.
Walking into the room.. The hardest bed I have ever slept on. The mattress was extremely uncomfortable and the edges of the bed wooden and hard. Smallest bathroom I have ever seen- actually impossible to wash hands in the basin. Absolutely no space for luggage in the room. I waited 10 minutes for hot water in shower. Once I got it, the water was either burning hot old ice cold. No in-between because hey who would need that!
So for the three most basic needs one might look for in a hotel: a bed to sleep on, a shower to wash yourself in, and place to store your luggage, this place is a no-no.
Extra:
1. There was the previous tenants rubbish still in the room and on the floor.
2. The tv didn't work. At all.
3. Drunk people screamed outside the window all night. This is typical Reykjavik but another extra factor to making my stay a messed up one
4. No breakfast included in high price.
5. I could hear people talking, using the toilet and plug in their chargers. Walls are paper-thin.
Good location

After booking this hotel , on the good price and good location , I started to hear some bad things about it but it was too late to change it as they had taken full amount which was non-refundable. Check in was easy and the young woman offered to carry my bag up the two flights of stairs ( yes there is no lift). Room was expected . No room to swing the proverbial cat . Clean and cleaned every day of our total of seven days over two visits bar the Sunday . Shower did smell of Sulphur but then again all showers are supposed to ! However I stayed at four other hotels whilst in Iceland and none of them did. The room was so small we had to take it in turns to get out of bed. Some sharp edges on corner of the beds in our second room . First room didn't have a kettle but we microwaved water for coffee . TV did not work in second room . Yard at the back of cafe for smokers
