This hotel was awful. Arrived at 8 o'clock at night to find no restraunt open no bar. As you were stuck in the miles away there was no were to go. T.v. didn't work. The beds were awful room stank. Bedding was disgusting. Shower didn't work. Very old and smells awful. Stayed one night and checked out. Your miles away from main Budapest. Breakfast awful.. On fairness the staff were nice.

First thing first, this was a very low budget hotel so if you want somewhere very basic and you're not concerned about how far away it is from everything, then you'll be fine hear but that wasn't us.
The problems were not all the hotels fault, I clearly didn't do my research properly on this one.
The hotel was about 10 Km away from Budapest and it was down a narrow back street in a residential district that would have been difficult to access via public transport. The area was poorly lit and there were people loitering in the car park.
Inside things weren't much better. The hotel felt like it was previously a care home. I'm not sure if that's the case but it was very dated. They keys were old fashioned keys with a ball and chain, the room had a very old fashioned CRT tv with built in VCR that would have been great if it was 1991.
The bathroom was a wet room, and poorly finished. The door had to be locked from the inside to keep it locked, I'm not sure it would pass UK fire regulation standards.
The information for visitors was full of warnings about not leaving anything valuable either in a car or in the room, didn't fill us with confidence.
It took us just 10 minutes to make the decision to check out again and leave.
I did feel sorry for the staff, the man at reception was nice and polite and he was disappointed we chose to leave but courteous. It wasn't his fault, we're simply used to a higher standard of room and location, even with budget prices and I fully accept that we were at fault for not doing our research. The hotel didn't lie about anything in there information online.

Very friendly people at the Alfa Art Hotel. They speak good English. Breakfast is ok but nothing special. Dinner (a la carte) is not much choice but good and they even offered a free dessert. The room is clean enough, beds are not that good though (you can feel the springs of the mattress). Some noise can be heard from the other guests on the hallway. At our early checkout (4 AM) they even gave us our breakfast in a bag: very nice.
The hotel can be reached by bus (34) which is about 50 minutes from the city center (first take metro 3).

I spent a night in this hotel and me and my husband had our wedding here. The day went better than expected. Everything was in order, the staff was friendly and helpful, the food was lovely and all our guest were very satisfied, we received many positive feedbacks. The room was clean and cosy. Also we were able to take some wedding pictures on the bank of the Danube (next to the hotel). There are plenty of parking spaces by the hotel, which was very important for us when choosing a wedding venue. We were very happy with everything and we left with happy memories. Thank you.

Good staff, everyone is extremely smiley and helpful. The hotel's location is a bit far from the center, but the surroundings is silent, hotel is cosy. Food, wine were excellent. There is no bath, just a sauna but we absolutely enjoyed it:) Plan to return in summer.
