Loved the ambience!

The Alps Residency is tucked into the quiet background of Tiruparankunram but the ambience is delightful and has an old world charm about it. The rooms are large and the furniture rich and sturdy. What I really liked was the bathroom. It really is large and relaxing. The arrangement of rooms overlooking a large verandah running around it also gives a very relaxing environment. It is clean and quiet. Food and service is average but in case you are looking to visit the temple, attend a wedding or need some quiet time, I think this hotel is a good choice.
Poor service and cleanliness

Alps residency ambience is good. But maintenance and service is very poor.Rooms are like traditional south Indian homes, but it is not cleaned properly. There is a frequent power cuts, AC wont work properly. once in two hours AC will trip down.only fans are available it also wont work due frequent power cuts. Food is delivered only after two hours from the time of order, they say they have kitchens and chefs but really they dont have chefs, they used to buy the food from outside restaurants and will provide food, the food is very costly and the quality of the food is bad. for one day they charge Rs:2875 for rooms including tax and the food is separate charge and for food one day they charged above Rs:1000, there is no complementary breakfast or lunch, as a complementary they provide only one bisleri water bottle, they say wifi is available but there is no connectivity wifi. overal for one day it costs including 3 times of meal is Rs:4192. Overall facility and service is very poor. dont prefer this hotel.
Amazing Home Stay ! Personal Attention / Good Family Resort !!!

We stayed with Family & Friends for a weekend. Excellent rural location, no disruption, very safe, clean & hygiene, friendly & helpful staff, personal attention to all your needs.
Custom made Br.fast / tea & coffee / snacks ! Extremely care & attention to property development with tons of fruits & veggie plants all over and with a swimming pool as well. Would recommend for expats visiting Madurai !
You would need your own vehicle though for commute in and out of town.
