Alsisar Mahal, the luxurious heritage hotel is situated in centre of village Alsisar. Famous for its castle, havelis and cenotaphs, Alsisar village is about 23 Kilometres from Jhunjhunu. Alsisar Mahal was the ancestral property and residence of the Thakurs of Alsisar. This glorious Mahal is converted into a luxurious heritage hotel.
With stunning architecture and eye-catching traditional Rajasthani interiors this hotel takes you back to the era of royal Rajasthan. From the prodigious paintings to the antique furniture, the hotel provides guests with a truly authentic experience.
There are also few art installations around to add character to this place. In other words, everything about this hotel shouts of heritage and grandeur. The Staff is extremely polite and friendly and welcomes guests in the traditional Rajasthani style.

A beautiful, serene hotel in the middle of a small village. The sheer beauty of this hotel is spell-binding. The peace is amazing. Itâs a great spot for sunsets.
Alsisar Mahal is a lovely property to spend a weekend.

After a long, dusty journey through Rajastan we arrived at our destination. Got off our coach in the village and walked through some ramshackle streets to be suddenly confronted with this beautiful building. Got the keys to our room (huge keys) and were told we could either be taken to the room or explore on our own to find it. We did the latter. Eventually we came to our room which was absolutely huge with an enormous balcony/outside area. The room had two huge single beds, which were extremely comfortable, a very large bathroom off, and at least 5 shuttered windows with beautiful views across the countryside.
All the public rooms are amazingly decorated, not to my taste, but had to admire the work that had gone into them. It was lovely to be able to wander around and inspect all the rooms. The outside dining area served good food and the drinks, surprisingly, were not as expensive as other hotels we had been staying at.
Only downside is that we were woken extremely early in the morning by the call to prayer but you have to expect that in a muslim village. Also about 2 weeks after we left there was going to be Magnetic Fields festival which I imagine would make it very noisy.
Staff were all local and tried very hard and I'm sure with a little more training they will get better. Lovely people though.
Interesting walk around the village seeing the old buildings that had been left empty for so many years after the silk road business collapsed.
Wish we had more than one night here.

State highway road leading to Alsisar is slightly rough as it is under renovation / widening currently.
It is a 3 hour drive from Behror.
It is advisable to reconfirm by asking ppl on road for directions and not follow google maps blindly, especially when you are close to Alsisar.
Alsisar Mahal is a very well maintained heritage property.
Staff is good.
The service might be better when there is less rush.
Rooms on 2nd/Top floor, just below Badal Mahal Restaurant, are better.
There is nothing much to do in Alsisar.

Have experienced the property in probably it's most signature imprint on many a festival goer during the Magnetic Fields festival held within it's walls. The place transforms into a haven for an audio visual experience unlike any other in the country. Lovely passageways, great art and design coupled with some amazing views via vantage points. The Mahal is truly worth a visit and a stay as well.

We stayed in this wonderful old hotel for a single night, as members of a tour party. It is a great experience staying in such a historic building. Our room was huge, with two big beds. The aircon was antiquated but it worked. The furniture was old fashioned, as befits the building. There was no fridge or TV, but we didn't mind that. The food was good. The only drawback was the service, which was slow and sometimes offhand and even amateurish. A pity, because when you stay in a palace you expect service to match!
