stayed here 2 days on my business trip. that was my first time staying in amaris hotel chain. since amaris has many hotels in many cities, I don't know if it was amaris standard or only in amaris banjar, but the room was bad. The room was smelly, humid, dusty, with poor lighting. even the bathroom was bad. moldy and the towels were disgusting. the good sides, room was spacious enough for 2 people, aircon worked good and wifi were fast.
surprisingly, breakfast was quite good. but they served orange syrup instead of fresh orange juice. shame.

I stayed at this hotel for two days with my family during the weekend and, honestly, it kinda ruined our short holiday because we couldnt rest well.
My uncle literally slept in the car at night because he couldnt resist the mosquitoes that kept coming back even though we've already sprayed the room with anti-mosquito spray.
It was so noisy, we could hear people's footsteps and chats from the outside.
The biggest problem was that our room floor was flooded by the water from the bathroom! Apparently there was a leak on the wall. Some of my clothes were on that floor so they became wet and disgusting.
Not to mention the smelly bed sheets. Looked like they weren't dry enough from the laundry so they had this bad smell that I had to cover my pillow with my scarf to resist it.
My mom also complained about the TV being too high that made her uneasy to watch. It wasnt really a big deal for me but maybe for some elderly it could be a problem.
The electricity was out for a couple of times during our short stay, very very annoying.
We didnt try the bfast because we were already disappointed with the room so we guess the restaurant would be just as bad.
There were cons of this hotels though: the room's pretty clean, the interior is chic, the wifi was fast, the staffs are helpful, strategic location (near Alfamart, Giant Extra, traditional market and foodcourt, fruit stall and it's not hard to find taxis or ojek).
Even with the fact that I got reasonable price from Traveloka, it still didnt worth my money. Couldnt imagine if I paid based on the public rates which was almost double the price.

The hotel is value for money, clean, responsive, friendly and helpful staffs. I had wifi connection problem in the room.
The staffs helped me find the best room.
One night there was a black out and took 3 minutes to light up

What can be expected of a hotel of this standard class. Beside the hotel there is a traditional market, and in front of the hotel there is a large ditch with green water dirty and smelly. I'm just one night at this hotel, lucky no longer here.

Between 2011 and 2013 I spent a lot of time in Banjarmasin hotels and this became a favorite quickly. It' offers good value for money and reasonable amenities. There is a little shop for snacks and drinks, wifi, breakfast and ample parking. A small shopping mall next door has a good variety of of quality food.
If you are expecting a high quality hotel, this isn't one - it's basic but it's very good value for money.
