We were in Auckland for a family party and stayed at Amora two nights. The booking process was a little confusing- I rang to book but they told me to book online. Turned out that was because there was an online special offer, which was appreciated. Our room was on an upper floor and had a great outlook. It was showing its age in a couple areas, but overall was clean and tidy and well-equipped. Great air-conditioning and very comfy bed were nice pluses. We enjoyed our stay and will stay again.

Just stayed the one night in Auckland. Reasonable price, was able to get free street parking out the front which was a bonus. Hotel decent but did have cheaper decor and was a little worn. A coat of paint and update of the pine furniture wouldn't go a stray.

Room was okay - photos always appear more intriguing then the actual thing.
Not happy that not only was the room paid in full upon check in, we were asked to pay a bond of $200 per night, when I disputed this with reception, they had staff remove minibar. We were there to relax and unwind, not raid the minibar. I have never been asked to pay a bond of that amount for any hotel I've stayed in. A cleaner was almost in tears when she arrived to clean our room the following and found that it was spick and span when she entered. There was no need for her to do anything because we kept the room tidy before we left each day for our walk. Her comments were 'I wish we had more customers like yourselves' She gave us clean towels and continually thanked us on her way out. I enjoyed the location as we were close to the city and didn't have the need use our vehicle. Overall experience was average.

Hotel well situated for the city. Rooms a good size with a small balcony. There is room for 2 people. The rooms are self- catering. There is a small kitchen area with a washing machine, hob and microwave and toaster, tea and coffee making facilities. First night of a 2 night stay,, dinner in the hotel was good. Restaurant was used for breakfast service and was not adequate to accommodate all guests. We were told we could wait for a table or use the bar where some places had been set up. You had to sit at the bar on the stools or a lounge chair eating and a coffee table!!!
We were shown through to the bar, not the greatest impression for first day. The buffet was typical of most hotels. There was no fresh fruit, all canned! Happy to have breakfast as fast as we could and get out of there. They kept running out of hot water and coffee.
The staff were doing the best they can but there appeared to go no organisation and they were running around like headless chickens.
There is limited sitting in reception area. Some areas of this hotel looked tired and needed a coat of paint.
Second morning we got there early to avoid the crash. Poured some Pineapple juice and ended up with three small flies floating on the top. They were in the glass or in the dispenser. I showed this to the manager on duty who disposed of this. I was expecting them to check the glasses of withdraw the dispenser. Neither was done!!!
This should never have happened in the first place.
Again there was panic. The toaster Broke down and short of coffee and water.
If they can get their breakfast service sorted out this can be a really good hotel.

We always find our stays with Amora Hotel Auckland pleasurable.
The accommodation is clean and tidy each visit and the beds, comfortable.
The staff are helpful, friendly and the facility accommodates all our needs.
