What People are saying

Lovely place

shazzybaby on 04/02/2018 18:29

This is a lovely clean friendly place to stay but just a bit too far out from the centre. Although it is only 1 stop on the metro it is €30 in a taxi each way. The rooms are great and spacious with a bathroom with shower in each of the 2 bedrooms we had. There is a fully equipped kitchen even a dish washer not that we used much only the fridge and kettle. You have to leave a €50 dep per person on a credit or debit card which is refunded on room inspection. The one thing we did find a pain was that you cudnt use any cash in the bar everything was charged to that card or use you debit card. The breakfast was good plenty of choice eggs bacon beans and all the usual continental things like bread 🥖 and jam very nice tho. All in all a good 2 nights way with the girls but too far out.

NOT what they crack it up to be

AzitiZ on 29/01/2018 00:31

Booked 2 nights here. On arrival realised had made a mistake. The location is absolutely awful. Do not be tempted like I was to think wow an apartment for the price of a hotel room. The place where this is situated is drab, grey, cold and unfriendly.

Place itself. Booked a 2 bedroom place, on getting inside I found an apartment totally devoid of any warm feeling, windows that were specially designed to only open a few inches, no washing machine but 2 bathrooms. It did not look like or feel like home in fact it felt like being in jail.

The staff who checked in were also very rude. Arguing the toss about it being a card only transaction - they dont accept cash. Despite the fact I am not from Holland so would not know, the guy insisted (lied) that it was mentioned on the booking site. I used Trip and it is not and Trip is one of the better ones to use in my experience.

What did it for me though and the reason why I am writing such a negative review is the way they dished out the 'rules'. A sheet of paper with rules on it, as if I was signing an oath of good behaviour - oh and they wanted 100 euros deposit in the same breath.

Want my advice on this place? Use it if in transit otherwise pay real money and stay down town.

So convenient!

Russ and Andrea... S on 17/01/2018 02:08

I cannot begin to describe how convenient this apartment was for my family. A group of four adults of differing age levels. A two bedroom apartment with ensuite to each room. Two single beds in each room (very comfy beds and pillows, lovely clean/starchy sheets too!). The apartment was perfectly clean and kitchen (hotplates, oven, microwave, fridge) ready for use. Coffee and tea facilities were a nice addition too. (Although we did need to see the office staff to get a toaster- no problem though)

The lift was a very helpful addition (most other places to stay in the Netherlands do not have this feature!) The SPAR supermarket (between the apartment and the Sloterdijk station) had everything we needed to make our Amsterdam stay very cheap. We bought breakfast packs from there (kept them in the apartment fridge), as well as dinner (pasta/salad etc.) and cooked the easy meals on the stove and microwave in the apartment. We had a very comfortable lounge area and dining table and chairs.

One thing though, with one of the rooms we had to shut the bedroom door to be able to access the wardrobe in the room. The other room we had, the light switch was on the wrong side of the door frame so you had to go into the room, shut the door before you could turn on the light. Very minor issues, never a problem!

The apartment building is just a couple of hundred metres from the Sloterdijk train station. So easy to get from the airport to Sloterdijk station and Sloterdijk to Amsterdam Central by train! And the trains are so frequent too..On arrival (7.30am) we left our bags with the most friendliest and helpful staff, and back on the train we went to explore the city!
We did not use the restaurant on site nor any at the other hotels.
As for someone saying the windows don't open, that is not so, they do - open outwards just turn the handle!
The apartments are in the 'business district' but oh so easy to catch the train (and tram) to and from anywhere-Sloterdijk is a main station and the staff there were very helpful. The trains are very frequent.
We wish we had spent our last night (had travelled around the Netherlands and back to Amsterdam for the flight home) here instead of one of the airport hotels and their 'free' shuttle service.
If any of us are ever in Amsterdam again we will definitely stay here again!
Well done to all of the staff, we were all extremely happy with our stay.

Good for a mini break

Arrived Friday and checked out Sunday. Apartment clean and tidy. Beds were very uncomfortable. 2 single beds joined together not very convenient.
Loud music playing at 2am but rang reception and soon was sorted.

Pros- 2min walk to train station. 8mins to amsterdam centraal.. return ticket cost 3euros 50.
Spar shop 3mins walk away..has basic food..n nice bakery inside

Cons- dont get a taxi from outside apartment.. way 2 expensive

Great staff, clean rooms and good breakfast

Amanj S on 04/01/2018 12:48

I stayed here for only one night on a business visit. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly and extremely helpful, and breakfast at Adam’s was really good and well priced. There is also plenty of parking space in the garage.
