When you book APA hotel you get what you book. Their standard which is basically the same all over Japan. Clean hotels with very small rooms and slightly higher price than others because of the usually good location. Basically all of them are small business hotels. The bathroom is very very small. Well, you have everything you need for a one night stay. Donât expect more because you wonât get anything above business hotel standard. In this city you donât have many other choices. So stay here one night, then go on. Never ever think about staying here with your family on a holiday.

Well located to train station and 10 min walking. The room is rather big, but the airconditiong was not able to reduce temperature below 29 C. They have a public bath on 9th floor what is pretty cool. They try to be polite and help but no one spoke English. Breakfast as Japanese style is ok. Beds are fine and internet is fast.

Stayed 2 nights here, rooms are very nice and comfortable. Payed only 33.000yen for 2 rooms for 2 nights incl. breakfast. The Spa is relaxing but old. Breakfast is eatable but not very nice, eating room is also very worn out. I would not have minded paying a little extra for some better coffee and a greater variety such as some fruits and so on. But it's ok other than that particular when traveling with 3 kids.

I picked this hotel while I was looking on hotels.com for a hotel in Okayama - very expensive city at that time - and the site came with this alternative: Marugame! I checked the map and , after reading about the small city on the Shikoku Island, I have decided to go for it. The room rate was very good, the location also: 6-7 minutes walking distance from the train station and 4 minutes to the castle ( worth a visit). The hotel is chic, has Chopin music as background sound, the room is very clean, has all the standard amenities for a three stars hotel in Japan and the TV screen is huge; plus the possibility to go to the spa/bath, if you enjoy this oportunity. The staff: extremely polite, careful and nice. I highly recommend it!
