Great small hotel in the very heart of Cork. Within walking distance of everything in the City Centre and, even though I was in a front room, surprisingly quiet. Staff where great and the proprietress was a great laugh. Good spot.

I have to say, this is the worst hotel I ever stayed in. The rooms were very out dated. The bar was minimal. The day staff were ok but nothing to write home about and at night, it was like a prison camp. Not a hotel. You couldn't get a drink after hours. The night porter was telling you to go to bed when you came back. No conversing with other guest.
To have a shower. There is a notice to run the hot water in the sink to get hot water for the shower. You get better hostels than this.

Stayed here after spending 2 days with young family in the woolen mills in blarney. ,,, what a contrast. ,, the Ashley is not a hotel I have stayed in better youth hostels when I was a student , absolutely terrible. How on earth can this place be approved. By failte ireland would have demanded money back , only we would not have got anywhere to stay in city at the weekend. Horrible rooms , horrible uneditable breakfast, manky comes to mind ,and overpriced too. Avoid

I found the staff friendly.Hotel small but comfortable.Room and bathroom to renovate. The hotel is close to bus and train station. By train you can visit one of Cork's main attractions: the Fota wildlife park . ð

Worst hotel experience since arriving in Ireland , unfriendly staff who are rude and sarcastic , when informing the receptionist that there were 3 people parked in a four space parking bay and politely asking for assistance with this so we could park our vehicle we were told " at least we are not across the road at a funeral home and if our only worry is no parking ( which is part of the hotel package) then we should be grateful . Appalling service ! Would not recommend this hotel at all!!
