Lovely hotel!

Visited for 3 nights in February cannot fault the hotel it was lovely & very clean. Staff were so friendly & helpful. Bed was only a double & found it quite small compared to other hotels we have previously stayed in! Breakfast was lovely too & I was over the moon with the great choice of gluten free options they even had a separate toaster for GF only! We ate lunch in the restaurant once which again was very nice!
Only downside is the location itâs great for the Guiness factory but itâs quite a walk to the centre (Temple bar area) you can catch the tram right outside or we opted for taxis which were â¬10-15 each way!
Nice hotel not to far from city centre

Stayed here whilst on a recent business trip. Was a bit of a flying visit, but this hotel was close to where I needed to be. Taxi from the airport to here was just under 25 Euro's, took about 35mins. The hotel itself is located right next to the main train stations, with the tram line running right outside, so great location for getting around. Its about 2km from the city centre.
I booked a standard double room. Check in was quick and easy. Staff very friendly. The room itself was clean, neat and tidy. Good size. The room had TV, coffee and tea making, iron and ironing board, and a safe. This room did not have a mini bar.
You will need your key card to access the hallways from the elevators. See my attached picture. Room service menu looks nice, reasonably priced, but is limited. Not unusual for this type of hotel, and not intended to be a criticism.
Wifi is free. And as with all free wifi, was hit and miss on connection speed. When I first got to the room, speeds were slow, I was able to browse just about. That evening it speeded up. I would say overall good for a free service.
There are two places to eat, and also a lounge bar. I didn't have the breakfast, but did have some lunch which was very nice indeed. Pricing was 5.50 for a soup. 6.50 for a toastie, 3.40 for a cappuccino.
All in all a very nice hotel, one which I would stay in again.
Great breakfast poor bar staff

The spread on the breakfast was brilliant. Could not find one single fault with it. The rooms were comfortable and services available were great. The only issue I had was from a bar staff member Jay who was extremely rude and never acknowledged me as a guest. Same issue on the first night asked why I was here untill I informed the staff I was a guest.
What a wait

Hungry but not starving we decided on The Ashling Hotel for something quick as it was convenient. The was a decent crowd there as it was about 1.30pm..lunchtime. Quick glance at the menu and decided on 2 bowls of Seafood Chowder with brown bread. Ordered from a pleasant waitress who told us it wouldn't be long. Then 10 mins later she told us it wouldn't be long. The waitress then brought us our Brown bread and 2 glasses of water. 10 mins after that we were told the same. After waiting 35 mins my colleague approached the waitress who once again said...it won't be long. 45 minutes after ordering we were brought our chowder which was okay but a little tasteless. While the surroundings were quite nice and the staff were pleasant I wouldn't be rushing back.
Home base for Dublin stay

Had a great stay while visiting Dublin. Hotel is in a great location for sightseeing. All modes of public transportation are within a two minutesâ walk. A bus stop is outside of the hotel. Those buses (route 25, 26, 66, 67) will take you through the center of town and end at Merrion Sq. Many of the Hop-On Hop-Off tours buses also stop at the same location.
Room was very clean and bed was comfortable. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Appreciated that housekeeping left a bag of towels and toiletries outside our door since we did not have our rooms made. The WIFI worked great during our entire stay. On a night we were not feeling well, it was very convenient to go downstairs and have a delicious dinner at the Iveagh Bar. Our flight was late in the evening but after check-out, we could store our luggage at no charge.
One negative would be the narrow tub and shower curtain. A draft of air would draw the shower curtain towards you and cling to your body. I would suggest installing a curved shower rod.
