We booked this hotel as a stopover in a quiet area and after reading the reviews (even the French ones) we expected better really . The room was clean, comfortable and good value but rather tired. There is parking at the side of the hotel but it is not enclosed.
We ate in the restaurant but we found the food rather ordinary and expensive. The mushrooms in the starter were a little chewy. The service was fine .We found the dining room dreary as was the breakfast room the next day.
Breakfast was self service with good bread,boiled eggs and Comte cheese but the pastries were tiny , the coffee was awful and when I went to serve myself some fruit salad, there was a little portion turning brown in the bottom of a bowl from the night before, I know as I had eaten it as a dessert!

We were delayed by deviations and road accidents so booked this property at the last minute. It was a wonderful find. The room was spacious and well appointed. There were lounge guest facilities including fussball. The best find however was the restaurant. Our main course of deer with cherry gravy and chestnuts was the most delicious we have had in a month of touring. Price was very reasonable giving great value for money. We were there for just one night but this would be a great place to stay for longer for couples or families to explore the area.

Do not arrive on a Sunday. The restaurant is closed and the next nearest is 18 km away. However when it was open then the quality of the cooking was very good., Church clock chiming all night might seem quaint to some, but it is best to take earplugs if you want a good nights sleep Rooms were very well appointed .
