Return visit to this lovely hotel on a dinner, bed and breakfast deal. All lovely again, but found that they are now using a Brasserie style menu not only for the informal stables restaurant and bar, but bizarrely for their Orangerie Restaurant. A big laminated menu thatâs trying to be everything... but it doesnât fit the experience at all. How can you have linen napkins and mid course sorbets in formal surroundings from a floppy laminated menu? Strange. The starter and main courses were delicious, but sadly the desserts awful- rubbery Panna cotta and runny creme brûlée. However the staff were so great, we forgave the puddings.

Attended a burns supper there and the setting is beautiful, food was amazing, best fillet steak ever. Service was second to none. We were treated like lords and ladies for the evening. Will definitely come back, looking forward to a wedding reception there in April!

If youâre looking for a genuine break and not a drop after shopping or a place to enjoy a spa, or burn yourself out at the gym then this is it. Had another fabulous genuine break at the Balbirnie and were given a very special treat from the hotel staff to help celebrate a birthday. I was afraid to come again as our first visit was faultless but this was another great visit, with the added bonus of the sight of three chilled out deer strolling around the grounds as we left!

We were attending a Burns night and decided to stay overnight to be able to enjoy our evening without driving home. The burns night was excellent with superb service and fantastic food. The public areas of the hotel were lovely and comfortable looking
We were however extremely disappointed with the room and didn't feel it was worth the money being charged by the hotel. It was poorly maintained and in areas could've been cleaner. We didn't want to let this spoil our evening and decided to speak to reception in the morning. The assistant manager came to the room a d we pointed out the issues. I have to say it was handled very well by the staff, however serious improvements need to be made to warrant charging £190 per night.

My husband and I got married at Balbirnie in November 2017 and I honestly can't praise them enough. Everything was perfect from start to finish. The staff were so helpful and nothing was to much to ask. We had lots of comments from our guests about the food which was amazing. The best steak pie I've ever had. We also had a hog roast at night instead of a buffet which was superb. We had a couple of vegetarian/gluten free guests who also commented that their food was amazing.
I also need to give a special mention to Erdal who was our master of ceremonies for the entire day. He made sure that everything stayed on track but we didn't feel rushed at all. I couldn't have asked for anything more. I would definitely recommend Balbirnie to anyone thinking of getting married. They take all of the stress and hassle out of the planning process so you can just relax and enjoy your day. I will definitely be back!
