Banasura Hill Resort is not just a stay, it's an experience. Spread across acres at the foot of the massive Banasura Hill, the resort is built in themed in mud construction surrounded by the lush green forest of Wayanad. The resort has a scenic swimming pool, spa, indoor & outdoor games, nature trails & tea gardens. But the highlight of the resort is it's amazingly ambient restaurant serving delicious food & opening into the forest of Wayanad. Rejuvinate yourselves in its tranquility!

I have been here for our honeymoon. PROS:You will get the feeling of being in the midst of jungle. The climate is cool. There is a nature trail. There is a swimming pool. There is earth room which is quiet cool.It is a isolated place which is quiet good for couples.Rooms are goodCONS:The road to the resort is quiet bad.Food is below to average. No activities. There is just a swimming pool where there is no privacy, i could see outside people peeping from the resort fences ,elephant rock is not something great, The staff must be improved.

Itâs difficult to be different from what other readers have expressed about the positivity this place oozes. Nestled in the deep forest of Wayanad this resort takes you away from the hustle bustle of the city madness.
We visited the resort for 2 days over the New Year and had booked us a earth room which is building right next to the reception and restaurant. Reaching here is absolutely easy if you follow the google maps. It a little far from the city area so maintains its serenity. The welcome by the reception was very cold I wish he smiled- probably he wanted a leave that day and didnât get itï. There is valet parking here but the car was parked right outside the property but thatâs ok. There is barely any network in this area and one needs to be near the front office to have Wifi.
The entrance to the main building gives a feel of tremendous spaciousness and overlooking greenery. The rooms were excellently done and were neat and clean. We were pleasantly surprised on noticing the mud walls everywhere. The room was naturally temperature controlled even without the AC, though it was a pleasantly cold. The bathrooms were well equipped and I must state the toiletries and towels were very unique. They werenât the usual hotel towels but were thin and smelled so good.
Hungry from our drive from Mangalore we headed straight to the restaurant. This is where we were warmly welcomed by the staff and there was smile everywhere. The buffet is worth every penny with a mid-sized host of dishes primarily south Indian served during the lunch. I must mention here is that restaurant is one of the most beautiful setups I have savoured good food at. Its feels like in the nature with trees all around and a beautiful natural décor.
For the nature buffs there are two trails one with a view point which we did over the same evening. This was a short solitary walk uphill from within the resort premises to a point which overlooks the huge hills that you see at the entrance. And the other one to a stream downhill passing through the tea estates and a rajaâs cave (Apparently escape route)- wait - the tea estates would come as a surprise as you walk down the trail they suddenly appear for you to be taken aback. The trails are well managed and seems like Banasura property.
The only disappointment was the forced New Year Gala dinner which I wish would not have happened. The dinner food there was sub-standard by the resort standards and the program was absolutely not to my taste but again not a deal breaker. The point of being away from the city life is to enjoy silence solitude but this event was very noisy playing music on loudspeakers - please be sensitive to wildlife and animals - the resort is in the peripheries of a reserve area.
