Basic hotel a little overpriced

We recently stayed at this hotel, it is a basic one a bit overpriced for what is offering, luckily some of the staff make up for it (some are not that welcoming). Basic rooms, basic breakfast but good central location which can be very noisy though at night.
âDisastrous and disappointingâ

One of the staff members, a young Argentinian man was very helpful and pleasant. The others varied from indifferent to rude.
Trying to find this property is unbelievable at 10:30 at night, The sign is not visible from the street and the push button is so minute you would need a magnifying glass to read it. Describing this property as a hotel is taking liberties with the English language. It is just some rooms in what seems to be an old apartment building. There is no foyer and the reception desk is merely a desk with a PC on it in a link corridor between the lifts and the room for eating your breakfast. The locks on the doors are of the deadlock bolt type which make unbelievable noise in operation. The twin room we had booked had three (Beds), if you could call them beds. One of the beds was a metal framed folding bed and the other two were just mattresses on a elastic strung wooden frame. The only chair in the room to sit on was an iron one which made an awful racket on the tiled floor if you tried to move it. The walls are paper thin, so much so that every movement and sound was clearly audible in the room, the snoring of the people in the next room was unbelievable. There were workmen fixing skirting boards and running cables early in the morning drilling and hammering. I could go on and on but it's just not worth my energy to continue. Overall I was very disappointed with this "HOSTEL" and if I was offered a free weeks accommodation here I would not take it. I have stayed in two hotels in the centre of Madrid for a similar price in May and September and both were five times better than this excuse for a hotel.
Great location. Cheap stay.

Im not giving this hotel a 4 star review. I'm rating it 4/5 for location, cost, value for money and overall satisfaction.
It's not luxurious and the entrance isn't grand. It's a fantastic little hotel for a last minute, no thrills, get what you pay for stay in the middle of an amazing city.
My daughter and I visited Barcelona on a whim and booked in en route.
It's around the corner from the Casa Batllo and a very short walk to Placa Cataluña and Las Ramblas. It's also very near the tourist bus stop (hop on hop off).
The room is small, bathroom even smaller but has everything you need for a comfortable sleep.
Thoroughly recommend the hotel for a quick stop.
nice cheap hotel with great location

I was staying at this hotel in may 2017 with my grandparents and my cousin, the rooms were small and ours rooms were in the front of the street and it was a bit noisy if you open the window but for us it was fine and enough for 3 days.
this is not the best hotel for families or elders but its great for people who want to come for few days to the city and doesn't looking for something luxuries.
the breakfast didn't offer to much but it was enough to start the day, there was a few Croissants, yogurts, cereal, bread with butter, tea and coffee what was enough for us.
the locaition was perfect and I think this is the best part of the hotel! the hotel is in the center of Barcelona, you getting out of the hotel straight to the Passeig de Gracia and casa batllo and in ten minutes you can get to the la rambla and Plaça de Catalunya.
I recommend this hotel for people who want to come to a few days trip to the city of Barcelona and doesn't looking for something luxuries.
Our Last Minute Hotel

We booked our hotel for 2 nights just an hour before we went to check in at 8+am in the morning. We had an aweful night in the airbnb apartment that we booked in advance and were desperately looking for some rest.
Although the actual check in time was much later, the crew was kind as he saw that we are looking real tired, and allow us to check in much earlier since the room was ready. He was like a saviour to us after our aweful sleepless night in the airbnb apartment.
I had nothing to complain about the room, there was everything that we need, including a balcony. Breakfast was simple, but we enjoyed ourselves. Thanks to the crew and Barcelona City Hotel for making our trip.
