Amazing staff, great atmosphere if you venture to the bar. Was pretty clean for the most part, but the kitchen got horrible once. Only once, but it got cleaned up as soon as the staff learned of it. Messy backpackers! All Iâll say is: please put fans in the rooms in the summer, and please update the bunks. Really squeaky, and not ideal when Kiwi Experience people are having to get up at 6am. They try to be quiet, but the beds squeak at the tiniest movement

Staff were lovely, clean rooms, good vibe. We stayed for 3 nights & had no dramas at all. Great location, particularly if you want to see the night life. Staff at reception went out of their way to be helpful.

Clean, comfortable, safe (and really fun pub crawl too!). Huge special thank you to Renz who literally spent hours helping me book my onward journey. She's AMAZING and the hostel is lucky to have her! Highly recommend Base Wellington

I had a lovely time staying at Base. :) The staff are really kind and friendly and go out of their way to help you, one lovely lady called an uber for me and I even went on a day long hike with the night guy Alex. The beds in the female dorms are super comfy and there's a good social atmosphere, where if you start chatting to someone you can super easily make friends. Would recommend!

Haven't had many hostel experiences but this one was definitely the best, mostly due to one of the workers named Poppy, she really went above and beyond for us to have the most enjoyable hostel experience. Definitely a trip to remember :D
