The Duisdale House Hotel is still top dog

We have just returned from our 4th visit to the Duisdale, and once again it did not disappoint. Reception was excellent and we were taken to the lounge and served a welcome glass of fizz. We were then shown to our room (Room 1) facing the front garden and across to Knoydart.
Throughout our stay all the staff were excellent and nothing was too much bother at all,not that we made that many requests of them as everything was just tickety boo.
The Fine Dining was just that, excellent food, service AND wine. Breakfast was also very enjoyable with the staff willing to chat and impart their knowledge of the island to you.
A fantastic venue if 'all' you are looking for is excellent service, fantastic food and drink aswell as total relaxation. Yeah, once again we did not take advantage of the hot tub. Maybe next year as we WILL be back.
Keep up the great work Duisdale you're a credit to the hospitality industry on Skye, hurrahhhhhhh ð

My wife and I had a last minute trip to Skye, went on TripAdvisor and found the Duisdale House. Arrived after a 5 hour drive and received the most fantastic welcome. Shown into the lounge, relaxed beside the coal fire with a welcome glass of prosecco, a lovely plate of sandwiches and a pot of filter coffee. Post that taken up to our room - complementary upgrade to the 4 poster loch-side view. Evening meal was fabulous quality and the staff most attentive. Booked up for our return visit in a fortnight immediately.

Very welcoming, helpful, knowledgeable and friendly staff, starting with so-called âchampagneâ before weâd even finished checking in (a touch less pretentiousness needed there?). The food is some of the best youâll find in the Highlands â from mini-haggis or apricot & smoked salmon amuse bouches before starters to chocolate mousse dessert to die for, with venison, steak, pheasant etc on the way all presented with artistic flair. Iâd be proud to recommend the restaurant to visitors as an example of what Scotland can offer. For some, there might be a downside that the technology infrastructure is woefully inadequate â from very flaky wi-fi, a few snowy analogue TV channels and probably no mobile signal within a mile. I had intermittent luck on the Vodaphone network outside. No excuse really for the first two in a hotel of this calibre but we werenât that bothered. The decor is not to my taste, being a bit gloomy in the lounge and not helped by the inevitable clinical LED lighting but a really interesting and quirky collection of objets d'art. Would certainly go back at a time theyâre not charging silly money (in the summer). Avoid room 7 (and possibly 8) as it is above the kitchen which is noisy.
Beautiful hotel in quiet location

Beautiful hotel in sleat with amazing view in a quiet location !! food was nice drinks a bit to expensive £12 for a glass of prosseco. You are taken into the lounge area before dinner were you order your food and drink then you are brought an appetiser witch was nice then you are taken into the dining room. There is also a hottub which I think would be better if it was more sucluded
Last Minute Booking

Booked this hotel last minute and was thoroughly impressed with the accommodation, excellent service from the manager and staff and food was extremely tasty. Room was upgraded as Hotel was not fully booked being January and it was immaculate with a beautiful view. The dining room and lounge have coal fires which makes your stay very relaxing and comfortable and the menu is excellent. Very impressed with this hotel, will definitely be back.
