Had heard of Bella Heights through friends/family who have stayed there before. A few months back on my trip to India, my dad and I decided to go to the McLeodganj/Dharmshala area for a few days post our trip to the Golden Temple, Amritsar. Following recommendations we stayed at Bella Heights. I am not sure why people have given it low reviews. The rooms were clean and had a beautiful view of the valley. They even had a nice balcony to sit on in the mornings with your cup of tea. The staff was knowledgeable and very courteous. Quick on their service and always accommodating with small requests like less spicy, and tea at odd hours. They had a gorgeous terrace where you could eat your meals with the most fabulous view. I loved my stay of 3 days at Bella Heights and would totally recommend. For the price, you definitely get more back. We spent a large part of our time exploring McLeodganj as well so for the time we spent indoors, we have zero complaints. If I ever go back, this is where I will be staying. It was also centrally located, a short distance from the main market and the Dalai Lama temple.

This hotel gave me the worst experience of my life.when we reached Mcleodganj we called this hotel to tell them that we have just reached McLeodganj and will be arriving at hotel in half an hour as we had booking at hotel for two nights and three days.but to our surprise the hotel staff told us that hotel is closed and has been sealed by government and they have no water and electricity supply either.we were shocked by this as we were not given any verbal or written communication regarding this from hotel's staff.This shows highly unprofessional behaviour on behalf of entire staff of bella heights hotel.they didn't bother to inform us.I would never recommend this hotel to any of my friend's or relatives.

We were at this hotel last night and I must say It was a pretty bad hotel. The rooms looked like it hadnât been cleaned in months. The sheets were dirty and it had hair on it, and we travelled during winter but it didnât have hot water to shower although they claimed they did.
In terms of the service the staff were pretty prompt and attentive. Convenient location and shops are readily accessible. People are quite friendly and helpful.
Sadly I wouldnât stay at this hotel again as it didnât deliver what it portrayed on trip advisor.

Food is terrible.They served us breakfast with a Cockroach.
Rooms are good but don't have views as shown on site.View only available from rooftop Restaurant which as per our experience is pathetic & overpriced.
No wi-fi either.
Not recommended at all.

Pros: Hotel is ok , room was small but had tea and a clean bathroom , staff is professional and friendly
Con : location dictates no auto and steep climb to either monastery or mall . You have to get rs100 taxi to mall every time.
