BAR CLOSED NEW YEARS EVE

We stayed in this hotel new years eve with a group of friends as we were going into london to an event. We choose this hotel as it was central to everyone. When we turned up we were told the bar was closed which had not been told previous to us as we had used this as a meeting point because of the bar. We are all so dissapointed with the lack of information given to us and the staff did not have a clue what was going on. I also believe this hotel is used to give rooms to homeless people like a hostel. The rooms where not the cleanest and we paid £110 per room. Very disappointed with the service from this hotel
LESS THAN AVERAGE

This Motel and thatâs what it is has a lot to pick up on.
Staff need retraining as their understanding of customer service is poor.
Cold rooms TVs that donât work and breakfast that is kept on a broken servers that fails to maintain the heat are real morale breaker when working away from home.
When the snow came they did not even attempt to grit the car park throwing piles up salt rather than distribute it across the ice.
Rooms are fair and the cleaners do a great job coffee and tea making well stocked up and water provided.
Itâs not all bad but the breakfast is awful.
Reasonable for price. Would use again.

Choose to stay here for one night with our toddler while visiting nearby relatives. Location to Epping was very handy for us. Price paid seemed fair.
Pro's: clean spacious room with good facilities including TV, wifi, tea/coffee making facilities, bathroom with toiletries etc.
Con's: reception staff rude. I had tried calling 8 times in the hour before arrival, but the calls had gone unanswered. When I mentioned this, there was no apology, just an insinuation that I was exaggerating and that he couldn't be expected to answer the phone when people are at the desk.
TV remote control did not work despite following instructions. One of the side lights did not work.
Noise between rooms not brilliant but bearable.
Heating in room ridiculously hot even when radiators turned right down.
Not terrible.....but

I was put up here by a company Iâm returning to work, to be re- trained, after a year or so away.
I was based in nearby Epping and his was nicely placed just outside.
The reviews didnât exactly fill me with confidence and I was quite apprehensive when approaching my room.
First, the good points.
The room is spacious and clean and quite modern. The access to WiFi is sketchy but here was enough signal for what I needed.
The hotel staff were friendly enough and I didnât have need to deal with them much, but they gave an aura of professionalism when I did encounter one.
The building the reception area is was a lovely building and probably an old roadside inn or pub at some time in the past.
Thatâs it.
Now.....
The bad points.
The room was baking! Even with the thermostat on the radiator right down I was still waking up 3-4 times a night overheating. I didnât want to open the window as I was in the ground floor next to a main road.
The breakfast was hit and miss. It was a continental buffet and a hot buffet with h limited tea and coffee and Various juices. Some days it was really nice and others it just edible.
The restaurant in the hotel was an Indian restaurant with a soulless bar. I like an Indian, but not to have that as my only option. There is a room service menu, but blooming heck, Iâm away from home for a week, I donât wanna be getting cabin fever sitting in my room.
As I said the restaurant and bar were just soulless. But this is remedied by a short walk into town to the Duke of Wellington or the George and Dragon.
The entrance to the building the bedrooms are in was reminiscent of some 1960âs monstrosity and not very inviting.
In conclusion, itâs not as bad as some people have stated and certainly warrants more than a 1 Star.... but blow me, itâs probably a top end 2 Star.
Done just what was needed

Me and my girlfriend had friends wedding evening and needed place to say. we saw reviews and was mixed but took the gamble. Stayed in standard double en suite we actually walked to hotel from Epping station was reasonable distance if don't mind waking and nice day when got outside the hotel was fearing the worse. Checked In at reception was smooth and efficient paid £70 for double en suite room which I think was reasonable price. When walking to room the halls of building our outdated and a bit run down again fearing worse. When got to room was pleasantly surprised a very spacious room for the two of us. Plenty of clothe spaces and hangers. Comfortable bed and good size bath and bathroom. We appreciated the stay in hotel and was good value have seen some of the photos on here and can only say the room we stayed in was very clean and my girlfriend is a germaphobe and had no problem with the room. Staff was all friendly we had interaction with. Pluses good location, cheap, spacious and comfy beds. For hotel of this star I had to give my rating as excellent as could hardly fault the hotel for our stay experience
