OK. it's called the Univers Hotel, but it's the Station Hotel really. Room 446 has a brilliant view of one of Europe's most iconic stations.If you don't like trains, then this won't worry you, but if you like waking up to the Paris - Frankfurt Express it's wonderful.
Sound insulation is excellent, so no concerns of the railway keeping you awake or waking you up. Or the traffic outside, either. Buses 1 and 4 from just outside will take you into the heart of the old city centre. The walk is about 25 minutes which may be more than you feel like doing if walking around the city's attractions is on your agenda.
Breakfast was included in our package and it was one of the best "continental" breakfasts I've had. Salmon, a selection of cold meats, cereals, fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, sausages, bread, rolls, pastries, fruit juice and a selection of coffees. Yoghurts, too.
Five minutes walk from Liège-Guillemin station.
The hotel isn't in the first flush of youth - it's been here for over 100 years. Our room was plain and simple with a very comfortable bed and nice bathroom. If you're looking for luxury at this price then you'll be disappointed. But if a sensible price and a clean room is what you want, then the Hotel Univers is well worth considering.

It was a weekend visit for a short stay and I am highly recommended this hotel for a lovely view for the train station and for photos to take specially for the very early trains. Liege is really special place to visit and the hotel was so good in breakfast including sweets and so good coffee.

The hotel is in a great location, almost opposite Liege-Guillemins station and in spite of that, was actually very quiet at night though some building works were going on during the daytime outside.
The staff were generally very friendly and the breakfast was good. Enough variety without being overwhelming. Personally I would have preferred a slightly later breakfast window (it's from 6-9am) but I think it is geared to business travellers due to its excellent transport links and was not a problem, just a preference.
The room was much larger than I expected and very comfortable with ample storage.
Great for getting in to the centre and the old town (cÅur historique) is well worth exploring, it took me around 25 minutes to walk there though there are many buses.

Close to the station, this hotel provides perfectly satisfactory accommodation but no frills. Rooms are plain and simply furnished - irritating that the taps cut in and out. Breakfast is competent but nothing special - short on choice and some very leathery omelette. But I slept well with no city centre disturbance. Staff were helpful.

Room was clean and beds comfy.
Shower was a little difficult as you had to hold the shower head to wash.
Ate in the restaurant food was very good.
No tea or coffee in the room.
If you go by car go to the hotel first and get a ticket to park your car at a better rate in the multi storey opposite.
Would recommend.
