Fortunately we only had two nights in the motel, had we been booked in for longer we would have been "moving on" quite quickly.
After a nice greeting at reception were taken to find our room on the first floor. The landing is dirty and on the outdoor table for our room there was an ash tray. A full ash tray that remained there for the two days that we were there.
The interior of the room was furnished to an OK standard for workman's accommodation with few glitzy bits and a fluffy bed throw. The cutlery and crockery seemed to have come from a car boot sale as nothing matched.
We asked on two occasions if we could use the safe and never did get to use it !
The waste bins for the hotel are at the foot of the stairs, so if you have have a first floor room, you have the pleasure of passing all the rubbish to get to your room.
The staff/cleaners room behind the reception was an absolute disgrace, with clutter everywhere on the benches and even over the floor.
This motel was part of a fly drive itinerary and was no where near the standard of accommodation that was provided in other locations by our tour operator.

Bed was clean and comfortable but overall very dated interior and in need of a thorough clean. Cobwebs, blinds dusty, had to get help to get safe locked. Phone not going. Entrance to unit very dirty with plant debris along passage way, Sky TV guide out of date. However staff were friendly!

This Motor Lodge is tired and old fashioned, not worth the four stars given. The bath was not clean and the carpet on the entrance to the first floor rooms is filthy. The one redeeming feature was the friendly and helpful staff member that we dealt with.

We had some special needs and our requests were helpfully and accurately met, we were not disappointed. Property was clean, fairly well equipped and very comfortable, manager and staff exceptional. A good experience.

We got a studio room with kitchenette. Accommodation was comfortable apart from lack of aircon, but there was a ceiling fan. Carpet could have done with a good clean. Mainly fine, but I suspect there are better places to stay in Rotorua.
