Boscundle Hotel is a lovely small hotel with some very quaint nooks and crannies. We were welcomed on Sunday with tea and cake. The staff were very attentive and we were allocated an upgraded room (Emily) which was very spacious. Despite being cold outside we enjoyed a dip in the indoor pool and the breakfasts were delicious (though served in a rather cold conservatory extension - my only slight negative). Overall a lovely hotel and happy to recommend!

Lovely drawing room when fire was lit. Staff were never around. Room was cold and when complained a noisy fan heater was provided which did not help. Decor in bedroom was awful. Bathroom dated and pokey. Breakfast was an abomination. And serving staff were terrible.

Last year I attended a family wedding at Boscundle Manor. Being a wedding coordinator, I was excited to see what this venue was like. Unfortunately, it didnât seem up to scratch at all and was a massive disappointment.
Here are the main reasons why:
- A number of the staff were rude to guests and when issues were raised, instead of sorting them, they decided to argue with guests
- dirty bedding in some of the bedrooms
- VERY minimal breakfast described as a full english. It wasnât even enough for a child. You had to order extra items but this wasnât explained to us
- bride and groom were not greeted as they returned to the venue after ceremony. It should be the little details that matter and this was appalling lack of detail
- not enough arrival drinks for all guests
- food service was VERY slow and not to a high standard. Guests were left with dirty plates from starters as they started to bring out mains - not professional at all!
- the wedding party had to bring speeches forward to after mains as the wait was SO long and a childâs entertainer was booked at a certain time for the speeches
- NO toasting drinks for some of the tables which also meant the groom had to toast with water
- the beef for the main meal was poor
- the staff forgot to cut the cake and serve it for the guests. This had to be done around 10.30pm. The cake was made by the mother of the bride so this was appalling service by the staff!!
Having worked multiple weddings I know itâs the little things that bride and grooms remember and this venue did not go the extra mile to make the day special. The service was not professional and not up to scratch to the price tag that is attached to this venue. I would be highly wary if you as considering this venue to be your choice for your special day.

Stayed for birthday weekend to visit Eden Project. Our room was quirky, above reception , with lounge area, bedroom , tea making area then upstairs to bathroom with both bath & double shower. Plenty of space and good lighting, one of my pet quibbles. The carpet throughout was cream, unfortunately stained in both rooms. Dinner was ok but nothing special for the price and dining room cold, also shared with rather noisy birthday group. Pool was lovely and massage great , apart from salon being chilly.

My third visit, my third massage, this time with Emma who has taken over from Vicky, and certainly made the job her own..
This time I had a Hot Stones neck, back and shoulders treatment and it was wonderful.
Emma is quiet yet confident, and quickly put me at ease. As with any good massage, the time drifts past all too fast, and I came away feeling so rested and calm with none of the usual stiffness and aches that seem to be a part of daily life.
Many thanks Emma, and I look forward to coming back soon.
