My opinion of the Breeze Residency Hotel

We are quite frequent visitors to Trichy and we stay at this hotel a lot. In fact, we have been visiting this hotel since 2003 (when it was called Jennys Residency). Here are the pros and cons of the hotel (in my opinion):
Pros
- Located very close to the Railway Station and not very far from the Airport. The Main Bus Stand is also close by.
- The people at the Front desk are quite polite and homely.
- The rooms up until the 3rd Floor are quite well maintained. We once stayed, in the 'Grand Suite', the largest room in the hotel and it was the size of a small apartment, with two bathrooms and maintained well.
- I have always found the food to be very good. We are vegetarian and we have found the veg dishes to be quite well prepared and presented. The two restaurants (The Clock and The Madras) have a decent ambiance, although the 'Clock' restaurant appears quite dull and congested, partly due to it's decor. The Madras restaurant has an excellent buffet. The dessert selection is quite good.
- Parking is not an issue during non peak seasons, since there is ample parking within the hotel premises and an adjoining open air parking is also available. But It can get quite cramped during peak seasons and whenever the Banquet hall hosts affairs such as weddings, birthdays, seminars etc.
- If you are travelling by car, this hotel is quite convenient, since it is located 10+ minutes of the Trichy Bypass. If you are travelling down South ( Madurai ) West ( Salem) or East ( Rameswaram ), this hotel offers quite a convenient gateway.
- The Air Conditioning is quite good.
- If you have hired a driver, there are shower rooms and toilets for them.
Cons
- The hotel is yet to upgrade to DTH service and still relies on an old cable connection, which has very poor picture quality. The TV sets are old with CRT screens, while most hotels now have LED/AMOLED screen TVs with DTH set top boxes. The TV remotes also do not work properly.
- The taps in the washbasins are quite stingy and dispense only a small quota of water out. The showers are good though. Hot water is not available at all times, since the heaters are solar powered. So, if you require hot water at non operating hours, you have to ask the housekeeping service.
- The wash basins, in some rooms are located at quite a low height, to the point, you have to strain your spine, to some degree (especially for tall people). There are no drains near the wash basin, so the water, if spilled onto the floor, tends to stagnate.
- The Laundry service is generally good, but sometimes, other's clothes tend to get mixed up with yours. So, please review the laundry manifest, when receiving clothes.
- The hotel offers decent, non buffering WiFi, but the pricing is steep (INR 190 for 12 hours).
- The room service sometimes goof up your order, especially during peak seasons. They tend to forget to bring items or botch the quantity.
- The paid mineral water, that is available is Kinley. The bottle is quite irritating to handle, since it 'crushes itself'. It would be better if they switched to Aquafina or Bisleri.
- The restrooms located in the Lobby area are quite shabby. The washbasins do not dispense water quickly and most of the times, the soap dispenser is empty.
Enjoyed the stay very much

Service was very good and freindly. Room was extremely clean. Room was quiet. Bathroom was very clean. Breakfast and dinner was very good. Price was absolutely ok. Value for money ratio was absolutely fine.
Lot of rooms for improvement

Like any other small city hotels in India, the rooms are not clean, torn towels and broken cutlery in the rooms. The breakfast to be improved in terms of quality, specailly being in south India, you expect high quality Idly , wada and dosa.
The location of the hotel is good, very near to station and bus stand.
Not worth the value

The room was bad with most of the switches not working at all. The TV was ancient with a non functional remote control. The restaurant was bad with a weird smell lingering around, the food was disgusting. Overall a very bad experience for the price paid.
Good stopover

Spent one night here en route to Madurai as part of a touring holiday. Very clean, well cared for and good value for money. Good friendly staff. Wfi and TV work well. Didn't eat dinner here but breakfast was fine. Very nice big bed but it was incredibly hard so we didn't sleep too well.
