In short, Iâve paid less in Edinburgh for more central, more comfortable and better organised hotels.
Was staying over for a stag do, last minute decision so booked the cheapest hotel available via booking.com for me and a friend.
On arrival was told there were no twin rooms left and they could only offer a double. After some cajoling, got offered the double plus a single at same price. Unnecessary hassle and an annoying start. Room was dated, but I wasnât expecting anything fancy.
Got back to hotel around midnight. Woke up around 4am by stifling heat from radiator (I shouldn't complain about that too much, it was sub zero outside), so I opened window. My room was on level with the coach parking (level 5 iirc) and the coaches were started up at 6am. Even with window shut, the engine noise was too much to sleep through. Then they started loading the coaches around 8am via fire exit through adjacent wall, with luggage banging around, at which point I gave up and checked out.
My friend also had a poor night's sleep in a windowless "wedge-shaped" room.
Didn't book breakfast so can't comment on food.

Hotel was located about 15 minute walk to Princess St. . Worked out around £5 in a taxi.
Breakfast was included so thats all we ate in the hotel, it was lovely and fresh with a great range to choose from.
The staff were all very friendly amd welcoming.
The room on the other hand was an absolute diaster!! I have never come across a hotel room without a window!. How this hotel thinks it's ok to charge customers for a room without a window is beyond me. It felt very claustrophobic and There was no way of letting some fresh air in.
There was no way of relaxing in the box we were given.
The bed was also very uncomfortable, if they are going to put two single beds together a matress topper would be a huge help, and comfort.

1. Rooms are very small
2. Food was below average
3. No friendly staff - they were busy discussing with themselves
4.Bathroom floor is - No words to express, poorly designed.
overall : Very average hotel, but not sure how it had good rating in trip advisor.

Stayed there through wowcher gift as my birthday gift..wasnt very happy first night stay in room 215 which was fine for couple but the bathroom was horrible edge of toilet was broken water was cuming on floor whenever u flush..kitchen service also was a bad experience as i dnt eat meats i order vegetarian food which was on menu and they say not available then my husband wanted egg instead with bread and the answer from the chef was he run out of egg..the reception staff the bar staff and the waiters were very nice manage but kitchen staff especially especially especially the CHEF was soo rude an old couple come for breakfast last minute n the old lady apologise for cuming last minute as she was bit unwell and other people were still having breakfast the chef told her its close she cnt have anything and ask her to drop the plate imediately i was so sad for her as she had put some bread n egg in her plate already and the chef was soo rude the lady say sorry and leave and we were watching as we were still having breakfast on the table but the waiter was soo nice MR FABIO... dnt remember his name properly he was trying to convince the chef let the old lady eat but the chef infront of everybody insult the waiter which was wrong and the waiter also keep say sorry but the chef was soo arogant and rude keep shouting at him...i stay first night in room 215 it was clean but the bathroom was horible the edge of the toilet was broken everytime flush the toilet water leak and the floor is wet disgusting..bad experience..but the reception staffs and the bar staffs n waiters were really good and helpfull...the funny thing is my husband went to buy coffee one of the staff say we cnt serve you now cause we r close it was around 23.30 so my husband say there is no milk in the room so if posible can have bit of milk will make the coffee in the room they refuse by saying we can loose our license if we give anything as they not allow to serve at this time bloody hell refused to serve clients and nor can provide with bit of milk how much milk a person can used to make coffee..next time i wnt book this hotel we only stay there cause it was a gift wowcher for my birthday and i wnt recommend any friends or familly..i will say a big thanks to MR FABIO..... who was an very friendly and very helpfull

Absolutely disgusting.
Evening food - salad looked like it had been out for days! The hot food - awful. No pudding left. Bread was dry - didnt even look at tge soup. One bonus was a free bottle of wine.
The room - filthy. Dirty throws on beds. Window was filthy couldnt see out of it. Carpets were dirty and decoration was just run down. Bathroom was disgusting, floor was filthy.
To top it off we had a mouse in our room. Informed front desk who werent particilatly bothered at all.
Do not stay here. Vile place. Shall be takjng this further.
