Okey standard but the street alarm clock starts to ring about 05-06.00 and you cant turn it off, sirens now and then and heavy traffic outside. Didnt think of that when we booked, but pretty obviouse because where it is located. Cold be better insulated windows, in fact i woke up in the morning to check if the window was open... Breakfast only gets 1/5, not much to choose from.
Good location

The stuff was quite rude when I checked in and not approachable, over the phone same bad experience.
The lady at the desk was not able to find my reservation straight away also.
The room is small and basic, but comfortable.
Good public transport link.
Decent stay

Canât really complain. Very good location, walking distance to central station, shops near by and taxi dock right outside the entrance. Spacious rooms and working facilities. Much better than the next door hotel, which is owned by the same company
A pleasant surprise

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
Unless you are prepared to be scammed and ripped off financially.
We had a 3 night stay in December.Â
We booked this deal via Trivago which threw up companies like Booking.com and Amoma initially we chose Booking.com then we realised that Amoma was offering a better deal for the same dates for this 'so called' city centre hotel, Amoma were offering a deal £20 less and it included breakfast whereas Booking.com was room only therefore we cancelled Booking.com at this stage, which was a full month prior to our travel dates, and because no payment had been made to confirm this hotel and it was easy to choose Amoma as it was a better deal.
The only difference was Amoma had to be paid upfront which we did but it was for the same dates and same hotel so Camponile Varsovie still received our business and weren't losing anything by my action..Â
I then received a confirmation email from both Hotel Camponile Varsovie and Booking.com, this was a full month before we went on our trip, stating that my reservation with Booking.com had been successfully cancelled and that I didn't need to do anything else.Â
We then went on our trip and enjoyed our break in Warsaw although this hotel is certainly not city centre as it's described in the details, its a 45 minute walk to the main centre from this hotel.Â
On our check out on the last day I settled a bar bill and assumed that everything had now been paid.
However the next day after we got home I was on my online banking page and noticed that The Hotel Camponile Varsovie took a payment of £159 from my bank card on the day we checked out, without any warning and after I'd done some digging I discovered it was for the reservation that we had cancelled and obviously didn't use.
I contacted them direct and also Booking.com as Im extremely angry by this action and they claimed theyd had no notice from me prior to our stay regarding the cancellation and state they still had their commission to take as they had a business to run and this is why they still took the full payment. Yet they had sent me an email confirming they'd successfully received my cancellation on 9th November for our stay 7 - 10 Dec and that no further action was necessary from me.
I brought it to their attention that they had received my cancellation and they had confirmed it to me by email and also because I completed my stay with them for the same dates with Amoma that they had already received a commission via Amoma from my reservation and that by completing this action against me they were in effect taking their commission twice from me. I pointed out to them that what they were doing is completely wrong and unethical and it was bordering on theft.Â
They have decided not to talk further to me and I had Booking.com contact them regarding this as this company also felt the hotel should refund us however they came back to Booking.com saying that the hotel won't change their decision and that I have to accept this loss.
I am furious with this hotel regarding their decision to do this and the extremely poor customer service and ridiculously bad management skills regarding paying customers like ourselves, especially by their action to stop talking to me regarding this, after all we paid this hotel upfront so they didn't make any loss of commission and their action has left me feeling ripped off as I'm £159 out of pocket because of the act of pure greed by this hotel and I am going to raise this matter at a higher level as I feel we have been unfairly dealt with and have been scammed by Hotel Camponile Varsovie.
Therefore save yourself from getting ripped off by this hotel and DONT BOOK THIS HOTEL UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES there are many better and nicer hotels in this area and closer to the old town there is a good choice of hotels at similar prices where I'm sure you will receive much better customer service and better hotel management.Â
