Oh dear.!

I realise it was cold outside but the heater was full on all night and still couldn't get warm! Woke about 5am by mouse, in the wall I guess. Judging by the noise it could have been a rat! Decided not to shower as I feared I might be frozen to the tiles or attacked by the mould on the ceiling! The ancient louvre window didn't help! I guess the good news was that sink was in the bedroom?!
Surprisingly the breakfast was good.

This hotel is very friendly and convenient for the shops and The Regent Theatre. Our room is tired looking, but redecoration going on this winter. Can't fault the breakfast and the staff. No hesitation to use again. Only dropped a star, because of Decor and facilities in room.

Letâs start with a positive: Imran welcomed us in the most lovely, hospitable, friendly way. He made us really feel at home.
The room: very shabby. Clean but very old, tired and in urgent need of a refurb. Behind the bedâs headrest was a doulbe electric socket that was wide open and falling apart - not great.
Breakfast was good with plenty of choice and with friendly service.
Overall - you get what you pay for...
Good and bad points plus a really strange breakfast offering.

At the start of this review I am torn between a 2 and 3 out of 5 review.
This hotel was ideally located for where I was working, plus it had free parking.
The reception although dated was clean and the chap who checked me in was very friendly and informative, giving me advice on where to eat etc.
The room was on the top floor (16). It was quite worn and in need of a refresh but it was clean. Throughout the stay, the housekeeping was first class.
Internet was free but very unpredictable. The connection would suddenly drop and then come back. Sometimes I had to keep swapping access points to get online. It did, however, seem to behave on the last night.
There was no hot water in the sink. It appeared to be broken only giving cold.
The shower was unpredictable. Apart from the final morning, you may get a minute of hot water then it would go back to cold. I am assuming this is to do with the water pressure. The last night was quieter than previous nights which may have also explained the improvement in the internet connectivity.
The bed was comfy albeit a bit creaky which gave 4 decent nights sleep.
A microwave was an interesting addition to the room. No idea why it was there. Would have been better to see a fridge instead.
Breakfast. What can I say? No bacon or normal pork sausages. Instead of only beef sausages and turkey rashers. They were grim. Strange that you cannot get a proper English breakfast in an English hotel. Even though it was included in the room price I did not bother the rest of the week. Luckily there is a Tesco a few minutes away to get some croissants.
So good points were cleanliness, parking, and friendliness of the owner.
Bad points were shower, sink, and awful breakfast
The irritating point was the internet.
It was cheap but not that much cheaper than some far better places.
Would I stay here again? No, but if you are looking for somewhere basic then it is fine.
Scapes a 3/5
Very nice hotel

Good place, friendly people working there, big breakfast and cosy rooms. The waitress has good sense of humor and makes You feel like in family.
Wath out the narrow tunel to the inner park place! It makes parking an adventure!
