A little piece of paradise

Once again a visit to Casa Susegad was a wonderful experience for myself and my partner. We left after a few days feeling ten years younger. Iâm sure it is in part due to the beautiful surroundings- pool, birdsong, and a monkey or two for entertainment - the comfort of the spacious rooms is also a feature. But mostly itâs the wonderful staff and the owners, Norman and Carol, who provide the magic that makes this such a special place. We will return (as many do) and recommend it without hesitation to friends and family. For a special occasion or just a sumptuous stay away from the crowded beaches of Goa, this cannot be beaten.
An oasis

We went to Casa Susegad in search of some tranquility after visiting the busy beaches and we found plenty of there. The house is a gem, Carole showed us around, it was like living a day in the colonial era minus the negative aspects. We really enjoyed our stay, the food, the hosts, the house, the cats and dogs, everything!
Another lovely stay

this isn't a review of our visit we did that on our return in November but has such a fantastic time have booked to return this October. Arriving middle of the night flight but with arrange for ramada from Casa Susegad to collect us a smiling face waiting for you at the airport with an air con car.We used ramada for our trips and were very happy with his services, looking forward to Juanito s meals and the variety she offers in the range of food. it will be another relaxing time for me at the pool and sampling the local beers and wines whilst barbara will no doubt be once again asking Sara to visit for a massage or two. All the staff and very good and looking forward to seeing them all this is more than a holiday it is an experience
Once Upon A Time

Once upon a time, when time stood still and a wake up call was the bread man with his cycle bell and "poi...poi...poi", the dogs waking up the owner and greeting the bread man with a wagging tail......once upon a time when the water falling gently over a makeshift pond would remind you of the village stream, a frog occasionally reminding its time for the rains to come......once upon a time when the sun would rise and kiss your face and wake you up.........one upon a time.
And yes, I am not dreaming, and no, its not a page from a fairy tale.
Set in a quiet little village of South Goa, Loutolim, Norman & Carole have managed to create a perfect getaway, for those who would love a bit of peace, tranquility and as they say elegant idleness.
A home stay which is now more than a decade old, 5 beautiful hand crafted rooms, rich colour combinations to make it vibrant, a well managed pool that is very private, a well stocked bar, excellent food options and a great team of support staff will make you want for more. We stayed in the Sunshine room which had its own little sit out and terrace making it very special. the bathrooms reminded me of old houses in India, a fan in the bathroom was the best one could expect. The Sunshine room does not have AC, and even in the middle of summer in May, we were comfortable with high ceilings and 3 fans it worked perfect. The dining room was grand, the seating and tv room was very well though and created, and the billiards room was just what you would want to watch someone play and sit on the window balcony and sip away a margarita. Housekeeping is very good, towels are changed every day, there are separate towels for the pool and in room use. the bar is very rich in ambience, well stocked with options that will be perfect in a getaway like this.
A garden, massage room, yoga floor under the tree, plenty of sit outs and great company from the 5 dogs who are very well behaved and part of the family, this was as refreshing and rejuvenating as it could be.
Norman & Carole have created the perfect getaway and in my several years of travel across the world, they are one of the best hosts and people I have met.
If you love nature, company, conversation, good food and above all if you want to simply idle away, Casa Susegad is the place to be.
Thank you Norman & Carole.....we will be back.
