The hotel was fine. It was in the center of the city with everything easily within walking distance. The rooms were minimally decorated, kind of dated but clean. The beds are so soft! All the staff were kind and helpful. Breakfast was kind of basic. Our first morning we went basically when it opened. The second day we arrived after breakfast was open for about an hour and it was picked over and things weren't refreshed.
The tour buses aren't allowed to go through the city so they have designated pick up locations for tour groups. The stop associated with the hotel is literally across the street and around the block and takes 2 minutes.
I would recommend this place to others.

Happy with location cheap and cheerful and adequate for a cheap stay. Power shower and flat screen tv, room warm with fridge and kettle. Housekeeping on offer if required and free continental breakfast offered

This hotel was averagely priced by Icelandic standards.They offered a great breakfast buffet, and the hotel was very central with easy walks to the Hallgrimskirkja, the Solfar sun voyager and the centre of town. There are many restaurants within easy walking distance. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The pick-up bus stop was a 3 minute walk.
The noise from a nearby bar was very loud on one of the three nights that we were there. Great location, woould recommend.

I had a great stay at CenterHotel Skjaldbreid, the location of the hotel is central near down town, the service was good with coffee in the sun room during the day, my room was small but always clean, breakfast was also good

The hotel is nice and comfortable needs a bit of redecoration, We had a corner room which gave a fine view of the main street and a side street, the coach for the airport and other attraction is two minutes as public buses are not allowed on Laugavegur, the entrance to the hotel is up a few steps and as there are no rails it is difficult to lug the luggage but the staff were very helpful and generally friendly the bedroom and bathroom were adequate
