i would recommend a stay here and enjoy visiting carcassonne and areas and its a good base for touring..this part of france is a fantastic place to visit and the appartment is great to get back to after a day of touring.

Carcassonne is one of the must-see places in southern France. A place of legend, of gnostic religion and Cathar myths. The prime attraction is the old city. The walled edifice that overlooks the town. Ever watchful like a protective grandparent that has seen and done it all.
As a popular tourist destination, it is ringed by hotels. All are eager to serve the hordes of tourists who flock to the old city. Many of whom are in search of ancient mysteries and piping hot cassoulet.
Hotel Cerise offers a different accommodation experience. Set in a fenced chorale five minutes from the old city, the rooms are actually small apartments. Complete with a small kitchen diner, itâs more like a no-frills holiday home.
Yes, they are basic but what do you need? Using the sofa bed, the rooms can accommodate an average family in comfort. They are air-conditioned for when it gets too hot and have sturdy shutters to keep things cool and your stuff safe. Better still, they offer useful respite from the pricy tourist menus. Why not use the option of a home cooked meal prepared after a quick trip to the Super-U or the local patisserie.
At â¬9, the breakfast is good value. Itâs a typically continental affair with juice, bread, pastries, cheese, cold meats, and cereals. Thereâs plenty of choices and itâs good quality. Fill up before you go and you can skip lunch. When you consider a coffee can cost â¬5 in a tourist gaff, having a few cups with your petit dejeuner makes good sense.
Cerise is a good value and sensible approach to family tourism. As itâs so close to the attractions, the lack of the creature comforts of standard hotels wonât bother you one bit.

Stayed for one night prior to an early flight home. Easily found and ideal for airport being only 15 mins away. Apartment well appointed. Immaculate and comfortable.Easy walk to old town. Area itself seemed a little rough so avoid walking late at night.

We rented a 2 bedroom unit which had a full kitchen & dining- the facilities were basic, but all that we needed. the staff were friendly & the hotel is a short 10 minute walk to the Castle- upon checking out they were fine about us leaving our car in their car park, while we spent the morning exploring. All in all was great value for money. They also have a share laundry which was very handy.

The hotel does not have a great appearance except for the reception building. However the apartment was huge, clean and towels changed daily. Great location for the cite but not so great around about to the left!
All the staff were friendly and breakfast was fresh, constantly replenished and more than adequate!
