A Gem in the woods amidst the mountains

This review is based on my latest stay â 30th Dec 2017, in a Luxury room, along with my wife.
It was my first visit to Ranikhet and the best part of the trip was the resort. The way to the resort is bit tricky and far away from the Ranikhet city, but when you reach the resort it is worth coming. It is deep in the woods, a gem amidst the mountains. It is an awesome resort with great views. The resort has massive property, spread across acres, maintenance of this place is equally worth mentioning for. You wonât find any inch of garden or greenery without a beautiful plant or flowers. Sunrise from the room was awesome. Waking up listening to the birds chirping, gives a feeling of serenity. Lots of wood everywhere, huge spacious rooms filled with all luxurious amenities and antique pieces. Lovely antique pieces and glorious chandeliers in the Halls and dining area. Decent food, great service and hospitality. It also has a kidâs play area. The staff was extremely courteous, very friendly and had a great service. I have visited so many countries and hotels in the world but never seen such great service! Everything was excellent - the 180-degree view of the landscape, the food at the restaurant and the fireplace. Because of its well-maintained lawns, there is seating available right outside your room.
Will recommend it to everybody and would like to visit again someday.

Just love everything about this property! Its deep in the woods, it has a lovely lawn to sit in and enjoy the sun and the views, it has a very warm and friendly staff, the food menu is probably the most exhaustive and most tasty in all of ranikhet!
Quaint Heritage Hotel

The hotel has a real old world charm about it and absolutely in a delightful sense. Lots of wood everywhere, huge spacious rooms, lovely antique pieces and glorious chandeliers.
The garden at the back is beautiful too and you get a breathtaking view of Trishul if the view is clear.
The food and service was great too and we enjoyed every aspect of it. We absolutely loved the hotel from all aspects and wished we had more time to stay than the single night we spent there.
True old-world charm in the forest with excellent views

Built in 1860, this property has very well retained its atmosphere. Thanks to owner and management one would presume. Massive wood everywhere, cast-iron spiral staircases, some extremely spacious rooms (others quaintly half octagonal shaped with excellent views) and a well kept garden from where one gets very good views of the Himalayas.
The place is in a densely forested part of the cantonment area, where one feels like being in the middle of a vast jungle (although only 2 kms or so from town). Wildlife and birdlife seems to feel the same. The garden and forest teem with birds and I was told that on a short drive at night chances are that leopards cross your path.
In short, a place to stay for several days with a stack of books (or e-reader) and a pair of binoculars.
