On the plus side, the service improved once we worked out how to handle the front desk staff. The first night was a downer, with cracked fittings, a blind that only worked by tieing it up with the blind cord, a dirty floor, poor cleaning in the bathroom and hot water unpredictably available.I think the bed linen was clean and the bed was comfortable. Little initiative shown by the staff and sometimes difficult to make oneself understood. The room wasn't serviced during the 3 days we stayed.
The food however, was tasty, copious and inexpensive - at main meals. The breakfast was pretty limited and average quality.
Also, glad we had earplugs as sleeping without (which I usually do) would have been almost impossible - the honking of horns and general hubbub begins early and ends late.
Service is rated on the basis of room service, which was swift.

We spent a few nights here at the end of February, and it was our first experience in India. I think how you find this hotel will partly depend on your expectations and where you are from - but do NOT expect a European style hotel. The standards are not the same. If you are travelling from Europe or the US, and find the hotel a little surprising or shocking - give it a night. When we arrived, tired, we were quite dispirited by the hotel - but we did adjust and adapt our expectations.
The rooms are a little worn, and some areas could stand to be cleaned more, but the bedding was clean. There was also a bad smell in the bathroom, but it is my understanding that this is a general issue in Delhi, and not the fault of the hotel. The room was not made up during our stay, but we kept things clean enough.
The food ordered from room service was good and very well priced - I would recommend it. A slight word of warning - when they deliver it, they tend to employ the 'knock and enter' method, rather than waiting for you to say you're ready. So be ready, and not in a state of undress! For breakfast, do NOT try the continental - eat the Indian style breakfast for a better experience.
The staff were reasonably helpful, and polite. You'll find the check-in a little different to US/European style, as you hand in your keys when you leave the hotel, and sign-in in a book.
The general vicinity of the hotel is quite noisy all day and all night, but that is just how Delhi is! We had some earplugs, which I would recommend.
Overall our stay at the hotel was fine.

I stayed at this hotel when i visited Delhi and i think that it is suitable for people on a budget and dont need many luxuries. The food was good and room was spacious. There are many shops downstairs if you need to buy anything.

We used to stay here regularly two years ago because it was close to our workplace. However when we returned this June, it was terrible. Earlier, they had a plush ground floor lobby and very friendly staff. This time around, there was a dingy reception, no free breakfast and the worst thing was the unbearable smell in the bathroom. When we complained several times, they said that we had to keep the tap open. The issue was that the sewage tended to come up under the drain so they thought that the fresh water would flush it out. Bizarre, to say the least. We changed our room twice to resolve this issue. The last room had a milder smell, but it was still there.
The wifi didn't work.
They tried to help us but this sort of an issue is really a no no! I won't go back.

We had a terrible experience in this hotel; we have arrived at 6am - hotel was closed and security guard who was supposed to guard the place was sleeping. Once he waked up we were able to enter...Lobby was dark with some people sleeping in it..bizarre. Check-in was Indian style you write your information in a big book, I guess this is how we do in India. Room was big; the staff mention to me that was a suite...best room available...imagine the others. For starters we had a electrical issue in our room after 15 min in; rom was over 110 degrees...I was able to call lobby for help, they came to fix in the most informal way possible...tape and a lot of effort. Shower was not hot all times, room was not clean...and hotel was terrible maintained. Honestly you ca do better...keep looking, I do not recommend.
