Coconut Grove , Obuasi

The rooms are clean and spacious . There are not enough power outlets to charge business tools conveniently but the a/cs usually work ok as do the water heaters . Some rooms have tea/coffee facilities but since the downturn in business in Obuasi you should regard this as a B&B facility , not a hotel where you can expect an evening meal as well . Wifi may or may not work . There is absolutely no atmosphere at all as you hardly ever find anyone dropping by for a drink or a meal except staying guests who do not know Obuasi .
Very basic!

Initially I was booked into a room that was dirty and stank! A decision was made to move me to an executive room??? Still nothing special, though!
Wifi works well, there's always hot water, the TV seems to work OK with a small selection of channels, mostly local it seems.
Walls needs a coat of paint, the bed/matras/sheets and blankets are long past their "use by date"! As matter of fact, all the furniture in the room needs to be replaced. The toilet seat falls apart as well.
Breakfast is a disaster!!! Exceptionally poor!
Not sure what they charge an evening - company pays - but I would say nothing more than $ 40 a night!
Clean with spacy rooms

Miners do actually stay in this hotel and I wondered how they were able to work the shaft after the meagre breakfast that guests get there. Otherwise, for the 75 USD I paid, the hotel was fine, with really large rooms, hot water running, wi-fi available at the restaurant, clean territory and friendly but not always helpful staff.
Functional but not Fab

Just left Coconut Grove after a 3 night stay for work - it was fine, rooms are clean with very high ceilings which give a nice impression of space. I actually preferred the room here compared to Anyinam Lodge where I've also stayed many times. The food was not as good though, very basic, staff were friendly enough, particularly the lady on Reception. There is a friendly little dog, attached to the hotel, Ziggy, who runs around greeting everyone. No Wifi during my stay.
My laundry was done efficiently, and the cleaner kindly returned a WiFi USB key I'd accidentally left in my shirt pocket, so "Medase Pa" for that!!!!
Bathroom was very clean and spacious, separate toilet, everything worked fine, but having to turn the water heater on/off 10min before showering is slightly irritating.
Fine but basic

Spent nearly four weeks here for work in june, and it was ok.
Rooms basic but clean, food fine but limited, and staff generally good and friendly.
Cost wise I think was around$60-80 per night so not cheap.
Had previously stayed at anyinam lodge, and anyinam for me would be preferable, as I believe it is slightly cheaper. The rooms are similar at both places but a better range of food at anyinam and the surroundings are nicer, particularly the bar, grounds and pool.
Wifi worked in the room but was very slow, better in public areas but still a little slow.
