We stayed here for 1 night to surf the north shore. The apartments are comfortable and roomy. There is a common area downstairs with a full kitchen and lounge room.

The manager was friendly and accommodating.

The location is great - across the road from
Shark cove snorkeling cove, and short drive to the surf breaks. There was a big supermarket a short walk away.

There were food trucks a short walk away which was perfect for dinner. Plenty of seating and a big screen set up playing the movie North shore which was cute.

Recommend

Perfectly located on the North Shore, Oahu.

We spent six nights (two adults and three children). The location was perfect ( we had a rental car), and the atmosphere was really relaxed and laid back during our stay. We have already booked our next stay, a little longer this time.

My little sister and I stayed in the mountain view suite at Sharks Cove Rentals. I have been to Oahu numerous times, and this is my FAVORITE place I have ever stayed. Super clean, and in the BEST location! When I was booking, the owner told me you could "throw a frisbee from the front yard into sharks cove." He wasn't lying!

Having a parking spot was so helpful. Super close to grocery store and north shore restaurants. Also, we loved having the kitchen area. We went to foodland and bought some snacks, which saved us money all week!

I would like to note that I am 22, and my sister is 14. We felt extremely safe staying here.

I have been recommending all of my friends to stay here when they go to Oahu, and I plan on staying here every time I go in the future!

This was my second time staying at Sharks Cove Rentals, and unlike my first visit, this time I did not have a great experience.I stayed in the accommodation for a total of ten nights.

On the positive side, this property is in a great location, being directly opposite a snorkelling beach, and having great access to the famous north shore beaches.

However, there were a number of issues I encountered during my stay here. The property overall is not in a good state of repair, and could do with a face-lift. The room furnishings are worn, and pillows are old and stained. The air conditioner in the room was very noisy and looked like it had been bought in the 1990's. To an extent I understand that you get what you pay for, and this is by no means a luxury listing, but even so new pillows and bed-linen are not expensive and are important for a guest's comfort. My main complaint was the level of noise in and around the house evenings, as there were regular parties and drinking sessions which went on past 11pm, and on several occasions had to be stopped by other hotel guests. On several nights, I did not sleep well at all, as there was shouting in the house, doors slamming, and music playing until past 3am in the morning. The room walls are paper thin, so you can hear everything that is going on in the adjacent rooms and living room. By the third day due to lack of sleep I had to check into another hotel for a night to get a decent night's rest. This was not the surfing holiday I had planned for sure. I complained to the hotel staff about the situation, and was told that they could not manage the noise guests in the evenings as they were not on the premises to take action, and it was the responsibility of the other guests to confront the noisy guests.

I do not agree with this - the hotel should ensure they adequately explain the hotel rules to the guests before they check in, and should not allow unruly guests to stay. Although I did so on several occasions, is intimidating to confront other guests late at night who are likely to be intoxicated. It seemed clear to me that the hotel's main aim was to fit as many guests into the hotel as possible with little concern over their suitability, with some sleeping on the couches, and guests even staying in a tent pitched directly outside my bedroom window which disturbed my sleep further.

Due to my bad experience, I discussed with the hotel staff and management that I wanted to check out two days early, and stay at another hotel. I requested a refund of my two room nights, to which I was told that this would only be possible if they were able to rent my room out again for the two nights. Furthermore, I had to enquire several times regarding my refund, and I was finally after several emails back and forth I was told that they would only refund me a single night as they had only been able to rent the room out again for one night. Until now, I have not received a refund on my credit card.

In summary, Shark Cove Rentals have a lot to learn about providing good customer services and service recovery, the property needs renovating, and as such not good value for money. I would not advise staying here under the current management and state of wear.

Great price and stay

We came here for one night on a whim. The price for the one night was awesome. The vibes of the place was very relaxing and welcoming, it was like being at someone's cottage. The bathroom, kitchen and bedroom was very cozy and made you feel at home. Super cool place, I would stay here again.
