We visited the Commercial for an annual family event. The hotel is in a good location and the staff seemed generally very attentive, check in was easy and our rooms all ready.
A couple of things were disappointing, firstly my mother in law was cold on the second night as the heating had gone off, and no extra bedding provided.
The breakfast was only average, coffee cold and under cooked eggs. The staff in the morning seemed very young and inexperienced. That said all friendly just not fully aware of the customers needs. The toast barely looked like it had seen the toaster and when one of our party commented on it they dismissed that and walked away.
I would recommend the Commercial for its friendly service at reception and for its location in St Just. Maybe slightly over priced for the time of year.

Stayed here in room 2 for three nights mid November. The room was clean and the bed comfy. The only downside, it was too hot in the room (even with the heating low) so we had to open the window and, as we were at the front of the property, were woken up a few times due to noise.
The staff were friendly and breakfast was delicious.
We also ate here one night. The food was lovely but we did eat towards the end of service and felt a little forgotten about towards the end of the evening.
Would definitely recommend a stay here and if in the area, would return

Spent 5 nights here in room 10. The room was spacious warm quiet and very clean, the bedding was spotless. The shower worked well and there was plenty of hot water, bath towels large and fluffy and changed when you wanted. There was only one ring for wet towels so it would have been good to have a couple of hooks on the inside of the bathroom door to hang them. The hotel supplied a hairdryer but the plugs were not near the mirror in the room so it was a bit difficult to see to dry your hair but that is only a minor moan. There was a really good choice for breakfast and it was all freshly cooked how you wanted and plenty of it. We ate here three evenings and the meals were delicious especially the fish and steak pie. We did try the other two pubs for food but quite frankly we thought our chef knocked spots off the others and wished we had stayed put. Most of the staff are young but really pleasant from the serving staff to the cleaners. A very enjoyable stay , thank you very much

3 day visit to Cornwall and stayed at the Commercial Inn, well what a great place on arrival we were shown toare rooms which were warm and cosy, both the bath rooms and bed rooms were modern and very very clean.
The bar area was good with a good range of beers, eating in was in a choice of two restaurant areas, food was excellent in quality.
With regard to the staff they were mainly young and very professional in there work.
And finally the breakfast was the best I've had in years,freshly cooked and piping hot, and the breakfast staff were great to.
So thanks to the Commercial for a great stay and we hope to see you again one day!

I visited this place while on holiday, just called for a drink with my two dogs it was a lovely place and very dog friendly with bowls of water placed by the tables for the dogs to have a drink. If you take your fur babies on holiday then this place is worth a visit
