We booked last minute for a stopover going to Scotland. The host was very friendly and told us about the local area. We went on her recommendation to beacon fell which was lovely if a bit cold! The restaurant at night served tasty fresh food and the server was very friendly.The room was warm and cosy with a new bathroom and we had a good breakfast in the morning with great poached eggs.Thank you for our stay

? Well a group of close friends turned up to enjoy a chatty meal together only to be told by a very rude member of staff "we don't allow dogs". What a shame had the young lady, who said this, been friendly or more human we would have put our hound in one of the car's and enjoyed a meal. Still we went on to a warm friendly pub in Garstang that provided a good value quality meal. Shame on your staff Crofters management. The name of the excellent pub was The Crown.

I have not stayed in the hotel at night but have been using the TAVERN on a regular basis lately as it is so wheelchair friendly. My father who has had a massive stroke and is now severely disabled and not able to talk enjoys his visits.
The food is always excellent and the staff are so good with my dad...nothing is too much bother for them. I have often asked for little changes to the menu (like having Marie rose instead of sweet chilli sauce) and this has been done without any fuss.
The chef is excellent...never had a bad meal. Always piping hot!
The Tavern is clean, nicely decorated and spacious. Easy access through the front door and large disabled toilet.
I would seriously recommend this Hotel for anyone in a wheelchair (or without! )
Well done for caring friendly staff who have excellent manners. Thumbs up to the chef too!

Garstang village itself was lovely,great independent shops well worth a walk around. The hotel itself is dated in places but clean with very friendly staff,we attended a function and the food was lovely,served hot which some hotels find difficult to do, prompt efficient service and a delicious breakfast.This is an independent hotel and for the price I would go back if ever in the area.

Booked in to go and have a look around as a possible wedding venue. Drove for 30 mins to be greeted by a woman who wasn't expecting us. This woman claimed to be one of the owners and I found her quite rude and she didn't have a clue what she was on about. Felt very uncomfortable whilst there and couldn't wait to leave. Well thanks for making our decision so much easier. When you're going to be paying thousands for a service it would be nice to feel welcome.
