Although we were not guests staying in the hotel, I feel the need to write the diner experience. Myself and my wife decided to have dinner at Serena Hotel recently. This is not the first time to have dinner here. We had breakfast in the past here. From the entry into the premises we had a smooth go. The security were friendly. We went to enjoy the buffet. It was excellent. The service was fast and good. The waitress was friendly. There were not many patrons at that time. The food was exceptional good. The lay out of the mouthwatering dishes is done well. From the starter, soup, if you would like,to the main course was outstanding. Tasty food. Huge variety and well placed. From previous experiences with the breakfast, I can recommend Serena.After each course, when you leave the table, the cutlery is removed and replaced with clean ones. The desert table is loaded with the treats. I could not sample all, but we had and could find space for was delicious.Fruit, cheese, salad desert, all was out of this world. We will for sure do the the other themed dinners also. This is a place that we also can recommend to all.

It was a business trip and did not expected to be this much from Tanzania. Nice hotel nice breakfast great deal nice location good staff. Must stay once. I had enjoyed the stay. Nice rooms with good cleanliness.

One of the good hotel in The town and even in Dar es salaam.Service is really good.Even food is also tasty.You can enjoy the get together in this hotel.As it is in the town,You can enjoy the shopping in an around.

Breakfast - Buffet included with rooms, pretty good spread (with challah bread!). The only issue is that the staff here doesn't have much much urgency or thoroughness regarding either coffee/tea (the coffee's god awful) or any missing silverware - getting either could take you a good 30 minutes. One day none of us 6 at a table had a spoon and when one finally was brought, it was literally only one.
Exterior - Lovely
Rooms - pretty standard, the bathroom had a moldy smell to it
Room cleaning / servicing - Mostly good, sometimes things went un-restocked for days (e.g. tea) but otherwise pretty attentive. They will not straighten stuff that you leave out, for better or worse
Gym - small but new looking, open roughly 6am-10pm daily
Spa - prices can exceed standard US prices

Have stayed at the Serena 4 times in 2017 and although at first I was a little skeptical, the fact is, it is a nice hotel with friendly service.
The gym is small but well equipped, clean, modern and monitored - very good for hotels in this part of the world (from my experience).
Food is excellent. Had both breakfast (try the fresh crumpets or poached eggs on muffins) and dinner and was fortunate enough to be staying on a Wednesday evening when they had the seafood buffet which was superb - the red snapper & prawns were top notch, on the outside BBQ.....delicious (restaurant was full inside and out so the staff very kindly organized us a table in the next door restaurant - top service).
Well placed for our business trip and I look forward to my next visit soon.
