This is a small, family run hotel. It is only a 10-15 minute walk from the railway station in Hoorn and only a few minutes walk from the harbour with its numerous restaurants. We had chosen one of the basic rooms which was a bit on the small side but was very clean with comfortable beds. The buffet breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice - all good quality food. The room rates are very reasonable but it's best to contact the hotel direct for the best deal. The family members who run the hotel were all very friendly and helpful. Hoorn is a great place to go for a short break and Hotel de Magneet is to be highly recommended.

Very small room (clean), avarage breakfast (enough food but nothing special), no restaurant at hotel (just a drinks available), too small car park.

This is a very well located hotel within comfortable walking distance of the town centre and the beautiful harbour area. I have stayed here the last two summers. Rob and Karen are very welcoming and charming hosts. Together with their staff they do everything possible to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The hotel bedrooms are of a very good standard, breakfast is great and dinner also. Rob even did some magic tricks for the kids last year. The free parking is also very useful. Hoorn is a very pretty old town full of sights, and a surprising number of restaurants and shops. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone..

We stayed 2 nights in a room with 4 beds. (We were a party of 4 adults.) We were impressed with the cleanliness, the comfortable beds, the adequate size of the room, the quiet location, the reasonable price, the friendly owners, and the delicious continental breakfast. The hotel was an easy walk to the train station and the centre of town. I would definitely stay here again.

Central but quiet, the Magneet is a good place to stay, with an excellent breakfast.
The room was clean and a good size, service was warm and helpful.
Three minutes walk from the Roode Steen at the heart of the town.
Recommended.
