friendly staff,but could do with some TLCon the building itself. Huge dining room but no breakfast LOL. But you do get an en suit jug though, you just have to get the water yourself. Oh yes and there is one loo and one shower per floor so good luck with that one. But i liked it.

It is very well located,quite central in an old building with high ceilings.It is near stations so easy to travel through Budapest.The staff was very helpful and friendly.The prices are very decent,for a budget trip.Not luxurious but you can't expect this at this style of place.breakfast was decent.I advice this for a budget trip !

The Dominik Panzio has a great location for travelers as it's a short walk to the main train station in the city. Though far from many of the city sights, it's in a nice neighborhood, near public transportation, and the Széchenyi Baths. I slept fine here. The bed was comfortable, and though no fan was provided in the room, the open window provided enough cool air. However, the place does need some love and care. Carpets are old, stained, and ripped, signs in rooms still advertise a breakfast that doesn't exist, wi-fi is only accessible right by the front desk, common bathrooms and showers are kept clean but need better ventilation for smells. Of course, by not updating the hotel the cost can remain as low as it is, but it doesn't seem like that huge of an investment to start tackling these needs.

I made a last minute booking here from the 8th July-11th July 2017, after the hostel I was supposed to staying in was shut when I arrived. I was unsure of what to expect as it was the first place I could find with a room at such notice on a Saturday night, but I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel. The receptionist helped me with my luggage, and my room was very clean and comfortable. Even thought the bathroom facilities were shared, I feel there was enough privacy and enough facilities. The only room for improvement would be if they could extend the wifi as it only covered the ground floor, but for the price I paid I was very happy, and would stay again.

Friendly and Cosy at a good location

Stayed here for 3 nights in January 2017. Booking was made via a student tour operator so we really were just dropped off here.

The hostel is located just off the main road. Easy access to various bus stops and the Keleti railway station is a short walk away.

The reception is basic with just a counter and a key stand. A few couches here. The friendly staff were also very helpful. Carpet covered halls,stairs and floors give off a slightly cosy but almost stuffy vibe to the entire hostel.

12 of us stayed here. 4 rooms shared by 3 people each on the third floor. No elevator so luggage has to be carried up and down the stairs. There are 2 main beds and a smaller one in the room which also includes a little bed side table and a cupboard for coats. Effective heater in the rooms.

Separate showers and toilets for men and women on each floor. The facilities on our floor were very clean. While not exquisite like a hotel, the facilities sufficed. Expect college dorm quality. WiFi doesn't reach the third floor. We would sit in the reception and use the internet.

Breakfast is cold - Cereal, Cold cuts, cheese, bread, Coffee, tea.

Would recommend this place for a shoe string budget stay. Was worth the money we paid.
