Came to Bangalore for business (TechPark) and chose Double Tree as a Hilton Gold member.
Initial email engagement offered to arrange for a taxi which I accepted. I also inquired about watching the Superbowl and was assured it will be available on two channels.
Landed early Monday morning, the line of EVisa was endless... Finally got out only to discover that the hotel's taxi failed to arrive... A Hilton rep was quick to find an alternative, though this was a simple car, with bad smell and the most dangerous driver I've ever been with. Note this is very over priced! Nearly 3 times what an Uber will charge.
I arrived at the hotel, and discovered no Gold upgrade was possible... I went to my room and discovered the game wasn't broadcasted as promised... So I just went to sleep... Until woken by the cleaner a couple of hours later... :-/
From this low I didn't think things would get any worse, but they did... I wanted to head into the office, but the front desk said they had no taxis. I never heard such an answer, since even if they refered to their own, they still should have had access to partner company cars or taxi...
I looked at the map and saw it was a 35 minute walk, so asked the front desk to reaffirm the simple route and safety. I was assured the path I thought to use and that all was safe. The next 90 minutes were probably one of the most difficult incidents of my life. The direction I got was wrong, the path over an open sewer and through dangerously crowded streets with no pedestrian crossing. The air hot and dusty. I got struck by a motorbike...
I tried Google maps only to discover I had no cellular coverage...
Long story short, after this start, it was hard to feel there was a positive to the visit... Hotel happy hour is ok, breakfast is rich, room is spacious and mostly clean, pool was nice but not used. Elevators slow as hell.
Will not repeat. Sorry.

Breakfast was exceptionally good, with plenty of options, especially for Indian cuisines. Everything was very delicious - don't miss the aloo parathas, onion uthapam, various upmas and idli and wadas. We didn't go for the international options, which were also available. Especially remember Pravjit, who stood apart in terms of service and also suggested many items which were not on the display and we may not have tried but for him.
Room service was wanting. They would forget replacing tissue rolls, or some such thing. Swimming pool was not clean. One may not want to dip in seeing the state.

This hotel was selected because it was close to our work location, and ended up exceeding my expectations. It was clean and very roomy, with a kitchenette and small sitting area. The hotel staff is very service-oriented.
Only complaints: Wish my room had a bathroom and could not find a single English channel on TV.

Coming in from Europe meant that, after customs, baggage and traffic, I wasn't in bed until 5:30 am - quite a start to two weeks of work. But I have to say that despite the travel challenges in Bangalore, the DoubleTree was a sanctuary of outstanding service covering food, car service, help in the room, happy hour, and did I mention the food? Being used to the American version of Indian food, I reveled in eating local dishes for a full two weeks - flavor, spice - the thought of eggs or toast for breakfast never occurred. From a staff perspective, everyone was a pleasure to deal with. Diksha provided me with numerous options for in town and regional sites to visit on the weekends, Sushil and Tapas made happy hour and end of the day respite from the chaos of the drive back from work and Samrat at the front helped with cars and questions. I wish I could name everyone as they were all great - almost too kind! On the actual hotel, the lobby, lounge, and pool areas were all great. The health center had a good basic setup and there was a sauna and steam room that I didn't use. My room was huge, but as I was staying an a less expensive room, the view wasn't the greatest - but I got tons of light by day so was fine by me. The only issue I had was water in the shower that was not too hot, but after making a request it hit a point where I could relax for a bit. The room itself was on par with other DoubleTree Suites I've been to - not swanky but quite comfortable. I will be back soon, and look forward to another great stay.

We had our company meeting at DoubleTree Suites By Hilton Bangalore. Leena Chabbra who coordinated the meeting had made all the arrangements. Equipment such as prjector, mic requested was all setup before hand. The lunch and snack provided as part of the meeting package was of good quality. Sameer, who had been assigned to the meeting room was very alert and helpful. We would definitely consider this place for our next company meeting.
