A modern hotel, surrounded by nature and silence

It's a new building surrounded by nature, with amazing view. We stayed in a triple room at the ground floor with a beautiful terrace with green grass, trees and the view of the lake. I loved the room, the deisgn, new furniture and beautiful bathroom - big, modern and dark coloured. Receptionists were nice and elegant in attitude, which I like it. Good breakfast with everything you need it, clean and modern restaurant. The place is truly an Eden, I think especially in the summer. In autumn and not being weekend, it was pretty empty and also the location is quite isolated. Free parking is provided.
Alright for an overnight stop

We picked this hotel for an overnight stop driving from Switzerland to catch the ferry from Amsterdam & it was convenient as just off the motorway. The room was comfortable & clean, very modern. There was a new chef so no menu to choose from for an evening meal so we had to find somewhere to eat in the town, about a 10 minute walk away. The breakfast was adequate. I cant understand people saying the town is nice because quite honestly we found it grey, depressing & hardly anything there, apart from an Italian restaurant which served very good food.
good overnight stop

We were travelling through, this looked a good spot to stop, and it was. Easy parking.
Comfortable, quiet, and a lovely view over the lake if you had the right elevation ( top floor recommended ). The lake was a nice walkaround in itself, there was a ( neglected and unsafe - loose zip wire supports that locals told me were damaged for a long time ) childrens' playground, a camp site , and the lake was well stocked with fish. There was even a good set of outdoor exercise machines
At dinner we asked for still but received fizzy water , the food itself was fine and nice service. We had a family room , with a high mezzanine containing 2 beds , great for kids though stairs steep and tricky especially at night
Annoyingly, no tea point ( kettle with tea bags etc ) , expected more for about 140 Euros.. one staff member on duty and she was running around trying to help everybody
Nice hotel, shame about the service

We booked this hotel for the location, and weren't disappointed. The views from our rooms and the terrace were lovely.
I had been contacted by staff at least three times prior to our arrival, enquiring whether we wanted to reserve a table for our evening meal, but was hesitant after reading reviewers experiences. However, when we arrived and realised we'd have to drive to any other restaurant, I mentioned my reluctance to the receptionist who promised the food was great and she ate in the restaurant every day, so we booked a table for four and were told we could sit down whenever we liked.
We went down just before 8.30 to be told, almost like naughty children, that they had been waiting for us. Nevertheless, despite inexperienced staff, the food was worth the wait so we booked again for the following evening. What a difference - only one of our steaks was cooked as it had been ordered and at one point the waitress looked like she was going to refuse to take a rare steak back to be cooked a little longer. We were then charged for coffees we didn't have and had to ask for them to be removed from the bill.
With the correct staff, training (and a local receptionist who knows the town!) and better breakfast choice this could be so much better.
After a fraught night trying to find a Neufchateu hotel eventually told about this jewel

Having been misdirected by Booking.com to a closed, derelict, for sale hotel!!, local travellers told me about this jewel well worth the 3-mile drive outside the town into the forest. Overlooks Lake Neufchateu
