A nice guest house

A good guest house with WiFi and fab breakfast. Room ok, but noise above. Access to car park needs improvement. Walk from car park is difficult and entrance uninspiring, looked like BnB hallway, which is a shame cos stairways and chandeliers are fab. Staff nice and helpful. Walk into town 15 min.
Ideal for a short stay

Booked a single room for a one night stay.
Received a friendly welcome on arrival, although I felt it a little unusual to be asked to pay on arrival rather than on checkout as it forced me into a decision as to whether to take breakfast in the morning. I didnât have breakfast, but the price (£6) seemed very reasonable, although I didnât have the chance to see what was on offer.
My room was compact but spotlessly clean with most of the amenities needed for a short stay. A word of warning would be that the shower tray is shallow and the water a little slow to run away, so there is a danger of flooding the room.
The hotel has about 30 rooms. The common parts are large, clean and airy and I would say that the whole hotel has been fairly recently refurbished. I believe it has recently been renamed Edgerton Hotel, having previously been the Edgerton Guest House.
The entrance to the car park is a little tight, but thereâs no shortage of parking spaces for the size of the hotel. The hotel is probably a 20-25 minute walk to the town centre shops, but the location is ideal for my needs, so I will definitely stay again as overall it represented exceptional value for money.
Must go hotel

My daughter and I had to do an overnight stop in Huddersfield and chose the Edgerton hotel. Great experience from parking the car to leaving a day later. Very friendly treating at the door. Check in really easy. We had a lovely twin room on the lower ground floor. First impression was wow nice big room, lovely carpets you felt like you were floating on. Everything you needed, tea/coffee etc, hair dryer, ironing board etc. Lovely bathroom with shower cubicle and power shower. Great choice for breakfast. All in all a lovely experience, shame it was only for one night. Thoroughly recommend this hotel. Good value for money..
Handsome town house

Very good overall. Two large attractive town houses. My room was spotlessly clean, comfy bed, very good shower, helpful staff. Big windows and tall ceilings. Very narrow entrance to the car park from the main road which I didn't risk but there's another (unsigned) entrance in Cemetery Road. I parked in Cemetery Road itself - unrestricted and walked into town. Would definitely stay there again.
Friendly and peaceful, what a great place for a weekend visit!

My wife and I live fairly locally but just wanted a night away from home ( and the grown up kids who never go to bed) to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary. The welcome was very warm and the room was large and impressive in a beautiful old property very much kept in the style that it would have had at the peak of its existence. We went out for a lovely meal and returned to a welcoming, peaceful home from home, The next morning we enjoyed a delicious breakfast in a gorgeous front room looking out on an impressive Victorian street. Everything felt peaceful and friendly. Before leaving, we spoke to the charming owner whose pride in the quality of the premises and warmth and excellence of the welcome was shiningly evident! If you are visiting Huddersfield ( and you should) and are looking for value for money, a warm welcome and a peaceful home from home, look no further...!
