Holiday in Taupo enroute to Wellington from Auckland

Its awesome being in this part of the world after being in Perth last year around September. Actually after flying into Auckland on Dec 14 i decided to fly to South Island landing at Queentown by Jetstar and travelling to Invercargill by road and staying at Ashlar Motel for 4 days and visiting Milford Sound and whole load of other awesome places and back to Auckland by Air New Zealand and now on my road trip with family from Auckland stopping over the night at Taupo Executive Motel which we did not hv any difficulty locating as it is just facing the awesome Lake Taupo. We took a cruise on the CruiseCat boat which was delightful. We viewed the awesome Maori carving on the rocks on the otherside of the lake and were served sandwiches , beer and wine . It was very interesting to note that Lake Taupo is a crater lake filled with water deep enough to run cruise boats. It is also an active volcano .And the scenic view we enjoyed throughout this cruise was very much worth the trip we made as a family of five. New Zealand both North and South Island hv some very interesting places which are breath takingly awesome. Tomorow as i drive to Wellington from Taupo more delightful surprises are in store for me as i celebrate Christmas tomorow with my family as i look forward to enjoy the rest of my holiday in New Zealand before i fly back to Kuala Lumpur in the New Year. Merry Christmas.

We are return guests to the Executive motel. Every time we go back, we are warmly welcomed by Gill and Steve. Again our rooms were immaculate. They are beautifully furnished and excellently presented. It feels like you are the first people to stay in them.
The cleaning crew restored our rooms to their original gleaming condition each day and restocked the biscuits. Little treats like this are really appreciated.
This is the perfect spot for a event weekend. 1km walk to town and excellent spot to watch Ironman.
We will be back in March.
Tidy and clean

We had two nights at this motel in Taupo. It is on the lake, however the views of the lake are limited as the rooms run down the side of the property and not along the front, however this didnât bother us as we were only there to sleep. This motel has very friendly and most helpful managers, the lady in particular helped us with directions, where to buy the best fish and chips ever and could not have done enough for us. The only downfall for us was the fact that there isnât a lot of privacy in your room unless you draw the heavy curtain during the day and we found the bed quiet hard. However, the room itself was lovely and clean, the bed linen was wonderful and the towels in particular have to be the fluffiest and thickest towels I have ever had on any of our travels, they were absolutely wonderful to wrap yourself in after a day of travelling....thanks for your hospitality Executive Motel.

Nice tidy motel with pleasant and helpful owners.
Easy to find and good access and little noise. Handy to township, shopping and eateries.
Very nice restaurant within walking distance.
Two minor negatives, half full small milk makes it look cheap.
Any credit card surcharge should always be built into the room charge.
Stayed in four other motels in the area and none had bank credit card charge.
Fantastic stay

Very friendly owners and staff, very comfortable and clean place to stay, recently refurbished with good quality kitchen utensils. Fantastic location and very good value for money. Will definitely come back.
