This Hotel is a nightmare

We had done our booking in Hotel Fort Gate and it was a nightmare .It was the worst hotel I had visited in my entire life.We had done all our bookings and payments were paid in advance but he hotel denied us the booking as it had some issues with GoIbibo. Neither of them had not courtesy to inform us about the issue ongoing and we were stranded in rains at 11 PM at night.This was an issue as the hotel had confirmed the details on mail with me.
Didn't feel safe but otherwise ok

Helpful staff. Restaurant was ok. Room adequate. Wifi dropped out a lot. Very noisy with both road traffic and people inside hotel. Place didn't feel secure and I had someone ringing my room bell at 4am. Not recommended for females travelling alone.
Calm and relaxed

Stayed one night at this place. Very silent and relaxing location. About 3 KMs from the temple. Hotel got ample parking space. Staff is very friendly and courteous. Breakfast is good. Wi-fi is not working in the room and you can access it at the launch. Clean rooms and toilet. A/C works fine. Recommended if you wish to stay a little away from crowd and OK to travel a few KMs to temple
Least Integrity - Never do online booking

I happen to book room for my family for a visit to guruvayur. When we reported to the reception, we were told that rooms are not available. But truly non-availability was not the reason. The guy at the reception was contacting somebody over the phone and asking in local language whether to release rooms for the online booking. They were possibly not sure that I can understand the local language.With my family along with my age old mother I had to further do a door to door search to get a room. And it was difficult to get a decent facility, particularly because it was a Sunday. Later when I contacted travelguru and shared this details, I was told that, they would have done so because they might be able to get a better premium from walk-in guests.
So I suggest not to consider fortgate, if you want to do advance online booking. If this is the way they handling the guest at reception, we can imagine what type of integrity and sincerity they will be having at their kitchen.
