It was ok to sleep in the night but not that you will be looking forward to spending your time here.
There was no intercom, no kettle to boil water for tea/coffee.
Even the toilet flush was not working properly and the water was getting spilled on the floor whenever flush was used. The helper tried but could not do much.
The towels provided were not looking too hygienic,will prefer not staying here again.

7 of us spent 2 nights and 3 days over the weekend of Dec 14, 15,16 2017. To us it was reliving a memory of summer holidays spent here during the school years. Nothing has changed at Fredricks. The rooms are very functional and old fashioned but more than adequate for a very comfortable stay. All once needs are met - clean sheets and towels, warm blankets, air conditioning, room heaters. All these you can find in any hotel. But we can assure you that no where in Mahabaleshwar will you get the simple "out of this world" home cooked food, meal after meal, course after course. If to get to ones heart is through the stomach Fredrick hotel management will make you fall in love with them. You are then willing to overlook any minor deficiencies like a glitch with the solar water heater or the delay in getting the wood fired boiler to kick into action. Sitaram, the house keeper, room service attendent, plumber, tv techman all rolled into one, makes an extraordinary amount of effort to meet all your needs. I will positively visit stay at this hotel again and again. They are warm hospitable and sincere hosts.

The hotel is beautiful...the view, the landscape, architecture...it was very peaceful. however, there were certain things that made my stay there a tad frustrating, As far as I could tell, there were 5 or 6 rooms that were full, yet only one man was taking care of everything!!!! Apparently, all the other staff was on leave. I had a hard time believing that. When you do not have enough staff, why take so many reservations? Guests, like me, get frustrated and this scars your opinion. I would not stay there again neither will I recommend the place to anyone else! We had to ask for basic things 4 to 5 times before we got them.
In terms of the food...it was ok. Soups were good and certain dishes were good. However, at times the rice was uncooked and the potatoes were uncooked. On the first day they gave my 3 and a half year old son french fries....absolutely raw!!!! The bhindi was way undercooked!
We were there for 3 lunches and 3 dinners....everytime the same thing...there was a dry chicken dish and a chicken gravy dish! Only on the first day we got mutton and fish.
for breakfast....the toast was not toasted properly...they were soft. Also, by the time it reached our table it was stone cold!!! All these things added to our frustration!

I called at the hotel to find about about the reservation & a lady picked up the call & was extremely irritated to answer any questions & banged the phone saying we are closed this month ... I was about to ask her when would they start but by that time the phone went bang bang.
Made a visit sometime back to this resort & the concerned person at the reception was equally & extremely rude .. I found the view from the resort good but didn't plan to stay as I could figure out my stay just by having a conversation at the reception ..
Can't help the viewers with any other details as I don't plan to stay here,the staff makes us feel as though the guests are obliged & unwanted ..

It's a nice place its at a central location n away from the noisy market n lake area. Great lush green lawns n peaceful atmosphere,chirping of birds. Nice sit out at the reception. The rooms are nice n big .But honestly wish they were well maintained . It is definitely a very old property, but maintainance can do wonders to this place. The staff is helpful n polite. The bathrooms are big ,but again lack maintainance n they don't have running hot water too. Wish they work on these aspects n it wil work out really well n FREDRICK will rock out in Mahabaleshwar.
