Average Facilities - Rooms need renovation

I have booked this hotel after seeing good reviews on multiple travel websites but I was disappointed with the quality of the room.
The cloth hanger in the bathroom was dilapidated (picture uploaded) and the bathroom door can't be closed (picture uploaded). The switch boxes were scary. The room is relatively small but OK for short stay. We (my wife and myself) stayed for one night as we had a flight to catch from TVM airport the next day.

Other than the quality of the room, everything else was good. Courteous Staff, nice location and decent breakfast.

A 2 day trip to trivandrum

After waiting a little, we were directed to our rooms - 9 rooms for our group- only to discover that although beds were made, bed sheets were dirty, stained, cockroaches and other insects were running everywhere, and in some bathroom, pee was all over the toilet seat. We eventually decided to leave.

Visit to Padmanabhaswamy temple in Kerala

This was our first stay during our visit to Kerala, we decided to start from south covering Kanyakumari first and then come towards north to Cochin. We were lucky as we were ahead of Ockhi cyclone during our family tour to Kerala. Hotel is nice, bit old but they have renovated inner walls, attachments, room coffee machine but left the old furniture which suggests that at one point of time this hotel must have been most frequently used place for business visits and now mostly families book it. hotel definitely needs a little bit touch on furniture; Otherwise rooms are nice. The hotel is in the middle of the city so no good views from window, use it to stay and visit places like temple and Kanyakumari. We reached late around 11:00 pm in night and were bit hungry but could not get anything to eat from restaurant as it gets closed at 10:00-10:30 pm, not even bread butter; they arranged some cashew nut, chips and a biscuits. Hotel staff is good and serves a full breakfast including all south Indian platter, bread butter-jam, coffee-tea and refreshing maple syrup juice, but try to reach early around 8:15-8:30 am otherwise things gets delayed/over around 9:30-10:00 am which is breakfast closing time. The representative at the hotel desk should be bit knowledgeable about city, we asked him about Shri Padmanabhaswamy temple opening time and visiting time and this person didn’t have any clue and we ended up waiting for a hour and half in the beautiful temple for darshan (we cherish the time spent at this historic temple), please check the darshan time before you start. Restaurant is bit expensive as per the local price levels but it is good. The best thing about Kerala is people are very welcoming, honest and very simple and Gago Inn is no exception; our son liked this place and he would like to visit this place again.

I stayed in this hotel during Oct 2017 for one day
It is a good hotel in Trivandrum near Kesavadasapuram
Decent behavior by the staff and good food
Rooms are neat and clean
I will visit this hotel during my next visit to TVM

Value for money if you are travelling alone

Overall the hotel was good. Rooms were clean and service was professional. We booked a room for 2 adults. It was extremely difficult for two adults to maneuver around the room as it was too small. Either they need to remove some of the furniture or get a bigger room.
