We were staying for 7-nights (with one night away to Balatón) and almost forgot to wrote a review because it was just like staying at home; not a hostel - comfortable to the max. The location is perfect and surprisingly not as noisy as we guessed. The room is perfect. We love the interiors and Judit is a nice lady with extraordinary taste of design. Over all - four thumbs.

This was one of my favorite hostels when traveling. The staff is so friendly and helpful that I felt like I was home. the location cannot be beat. it's right in the middle of everything and you can walk wherever you need. if I come back, I would be happy to stay here again.

I arrived to Budapest with no expectations and the Gaia Hostel made a wonderful impression. The setting of the hostel (an old outdated building with an ancient elevator) is the only thing that threw me off at first.
When the host, Girge (sorry if I misspelled your name) came to greet me, he spoke good, clear English and was friendly and informative. He did not rush me for payment since there was a glitch with the credit card machine.
My room was cozy and had a pleasant view. The bathrooms were clean and filled with free to use toiletries.
On my way out to town on the first night, he gave me a map of the city and personally marked down and pinpointed places of interest. From the hostel you can rent bikes, buy tickets to events and pretty much get ready for Budapest.
I was sad to leave after three nights and can't wait to come back!

Absoutley adored our stay at Gaia hostel. Room is big and comfortable , Bathroom clean and kitchen well equiped if your planning to save cash and cook. location is great as very near to city center. Judit and the Gaia staff cannot do enough for you. On arrival Juddit explained the area and gave us a run down of the best places to go. If i come to Budapest again i would definatley stay here :)

I recently stayed with two friends in a private room at Gaia hostel. As soon as I arrived, one of the women working there sat with me to explain a map of Budapest and pointed out the biggest sites to see. She was extremely helpful and was always available to answer questions. The room was spacious and comfortable, and hostel is in an amazing location. It is very close to the metro and bus, but is also well within walking distance of many of the big sites. Highly recommend!
