Waking up to the Ganga

We arrived at 7.00 PM and we entered a gated community with row houses and apartments. We were allotted C24, the first villa overlooking the Ganga. The houses are built on a slope such that all the houses get a clear view of the Ganga. Every villa has 3 to 4 bedrooms and a common key to the house with individual keys to respective rooms. Common kitchen, washing machine, coffee maker (however, dairy creamers, tea/ coffee sachets, sugar etc are not provided), a cloth stand are available. Terrace overlooks the Ganga and its massiveness. A Bhoothnath temple is also seen across the river on the hill.
The ground floor room is the best, attached bathroom, ac/heating unit is available. We had been in December, so, blankets and hot water was available. The rooms on the 1st floor are good, however, one room bathroom got stuck and we were moved to the top floor bedroom during our return visit. The pressure of water in the taps were very low. The ground floor bedroom is highly recommended.
C31 is the common office and kitchen. Food is very basic and simple. Its primarily Jain food, however, its light and costs 200/- per plate. Timings are available and meals are made on pre-order only.
This place is quite near to the Ram Jhula which is at a distance of 300 - 400m from this place through the back side entry. There are steps to reach down to the main road from where you can see the Parmath Niketan.
The Triveni ghat is around 2 kms from this place and when you walk down towards the Ram Jhula, there is an auto stand. We hired an auto for Rs.150/- one way to Triveni Ghat. Return fare from Triveni ghat till the bottom side of the guest house was 50/-.
Overall, a very convenient place and well maintained.

Very poor guest house.
Its a 3 bedroom flat. We stayed thr for 3 days with tariff 9000 rs per day.
All rooms has old ACs which makes big sounds all night. They do not serve proper breakfast only paratha or poha.
One day we did not have water in the flat for 2 3 hours.
Electricity keeps going.
Its old flat they have not maintained it too well. In some toilets hand faucet does not work. Beds are also not good.
And last day when we were checking out they refused to give us receipt of our payment.
We paid 3 4k taxes and we have not received receipt yet.
Its run by few monks but is too commercial and no value for money.
Flat is on 3rd floor with no lift service.
Autos are not allowed in the society so you have to walk 200meters steep terrain.
They do not provide luggage service.
Over all very bad experience.
Perfect Value and connection to God

I was looking for the relaxed place as well as religious place where I can feel calm and peaceful so I decided to go Rishikesh since this was my first trip to Rishikesh I was not too sure but still I booked Ganga Vatika Boutique when I checked in and felt the karizmatic atmosphere over there. Rooms were extremely neat Tidy, clean and hygienic food which was served is also best made with love and served with care this has many services like morning & evening Aarti... Different type of yoga and massage I have missed all but next time I will surely be part of it Special Thanks to Chaitali & Anita for being so cooperative and helpful surely value for every penny... Gracias!
I highly recommend this magical gem in sensational Rishikesh

I specifically chose this hotel because I saw that it was run by nuns that are part of the Yogalaya Ashram. I did so because I wanted a quiet experience, and to be in the environment of people who were quiet, peaceful, and show a certain level of dedication - this is exactly what I found when I arrived at the hotel and a whole lot more!
All of the staff at the hotel are absolutely exceptional, so warm and welcoming. It certainly feels like you arrive into a small welcoming family as soon as you get there. Every single need of mine was more than catered for, and I was always checked on as I walked by reception, or saw any of the staff. The room was giant, and absolutely beautiful - decorated in such a tasteful and stunning manner. There was a vast amount of storage space, and there extra blankets available for the cold, every single thing had been thought of.
The hotel is up on a hill, so it is a walk down a paved pathway, across the main road of Ram Jhula to the river, however I had scrutinised this on the map, and had decided to stay here as I particularly like walking, and was glad for the extra aerobic exercise. However, in saying that, I timed that I could make it to Ram Jhula bridge with a brisk 10 minute walk, and the walk along the river broadwalk (or ghats) is absolutely sensational.
I took two friends of mine on the tour to the Vashista that was guided by the staff, the lady who came with us (I'm not very good at pronouncing her name) was extremely knowledgeable, and she led us to a quiet meditation for about 45 minutes inside a yogi cave of many lineages, and then performed a Ganga river cleansing after that in the clean waters of the Ganga.
Everything about this place was absolutely magical, I really hope I get to return sooner rather than later, its a pity I live so far away in Australia.
I particularly liked, or fell in love with, their two dogs. Thank you so much to the team there :)
This isn't a hotel!

This is a good SERVICE APARTMENT/GUEST HOUSE. Please note that this isn't a hotel. It's an apartment with good rooms, some of which have shared toilets (the deluxe ones). The staff here, all from Spain, are really welcoming and friendly. Bute yeah, it isn't a hotel.
