Myself and my colleagues needed to attend some business meetings in Bucharest in the city centre and chose the Golden Tulip Times for its proximity to where we were having our meeting. The photos on the website looked good and we booked 2 nights stay for 4 people.
We arrived at the hotel in the evening and needed some food as we had been travelling. The hotel had a coffee shop / bar where we were told we could eat and drink. The food was poorly presented and the red wine we ordered came chilled so much it was almost frozen.
the rooms were of similar quality, very dated and dirty carpets on the floor. The room safe was not functional and the key pad was falling off the safe.
The bed itself was relatively comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was of very poor quality, with very limited choice of items.
The room key malfunctioned 3 times and i had to return to the desk each time to have it reprogrammed. I did not keep it next to my phone. At one time it was not possible to lock the door from outside.

Although Suspicious for the status of hotel according similar dissatisfaction comments from other people I choosed stay there. I choosed it as was exactly in spot of my business there.
The room was bit dissapointing. The carpet should be changed some years ago and the water in shower was rather cold. The price for breakfast is 9 euros... at least I had a cost of 20 euros less than the official hotel offer.

We are on 22 days tour of Europe and visited Romania in last leg of our tour. On the way back from Sibiu, we stayed here to catch next day flight to New Delhi. During this trip we stayed at 11 hotels and had the worst experience here.
Building - Impressive, Front Desk Staff - Polite and Helpful
Room - Dirty, carpet dirty, chairs dirty, smell in room and overall impression is bad. May be it was a business district, noise in late night in corridor and in other rooms. It was most disturbing night we had.

This hotel could be awesome but it's not, the main reason beeing the dirt which can be seen all over: carpet need to be replaced immediately, it is stuffed with dirt and flies, dead insects, hair from previous guests and stains of anything you could think of, from water infiltrated from the bathroom to wine, all kind of liquids were poured here and there. The room was never vacuumed as I stayed into hotel (3 days) and never heard the sound of any vacuum into any other room, during my stay. I was simply horrified to find, in the very first night, that the carpet was filled with flies, one I could catch and kill, from my slippers.
The bed had a pretty new mattress but the cover of it was dirty and full of stains, hair, etc. Sheets were clean and pillow, blanket, also clean and pretty new. All three armchairs in the room were covered with an unfriendly, rough material, which was old, discolored and dirty, and under the cushions you can easily find pieces of food, hair, dust and dead insects. Bathroom had an annoying, unpleasant smell, the drain from the sink was clogged, and the outdated tub was craked on side, also the cheap shower head, water spreading all over from it.The towels were clean and new, but only the small ones, the big ones were in very bad condition, looking grey and torn up. They invest in buying scented toilet paper instead of towels or quality apliances for bathroom.
The room was also noisy, facing a big boulevard, crossed by cars all night long. Seems like the windows were not isolating enough.
At breakfast, nothing fancy, just an average to poor breakfast with bad coffee and the room itself looking old and outdated.
If I am telling all this because this hotel is rated 4 stars and the price for the room is pretty high, comparing with other 4 stars hotel, which are at least clean. I would downgrade this hotel to two-stars or, as a manager, I would take urgent measure to improve the general aspect and mostly the cleaning.The stained and dirty carpet is the etiquette for this hotel. Never come again, thanks.
Need no answer from the management, just take best measure for your bussines if that is important to you.

I am not sure what to think. The toilet needed to be flushed, my room smells like cheap perfume mixed with stale cigarettes. The carpet is dirty and seems to have survived many libations. The bath/shower combo has a leak. But the sheets were clean and mini fridge is stocked. Breakfast is decent for a hotel spread that is included. The staff is very accommodating.
