They say you must " get tickets one hour in advance " . They did get us tickets less than 1 hour , but don't expect to walk out the front door and hop on a shuttle . First of all its at the back door . And it's a taxi . Our first driver should be blocked from Grand Hotel , but they own their cars and may be Union so... The second taxi was almost a limo and clued us in . Grand hotel pays them to bring you to town to a set spot ( not far ) , it's about a $17 credit . We asked and he brought us a bit farther to Whales Iceland for around $7. We had a blessing there also . They honored our BOGO even tho I technically didn't have it . Same at Perlan . I asked for the Viator price and got it . They also have senior price . Pays to ask . We found this a lot . Perlan also has a free shuttle . We didn't have to try it but it's last run is early . They are open till 7pm tho and restaurant till 10pm . Licorice ice cream . If you like black and peppery , it's very strong . I LOVE LOVE LOVED IT !!! Also duty free at airport , chocolate covered balls and tons of variants . I heard pepper cream filled was the bomb , but I really like black licorice .

Started our iceland adventure in this hotel. Very nice amenities, clean, well maintained, decent sized rooms. Location is a bit bar from the city for much touring unless you want to take a taxi. Good breakfast buffet

We booked a 5 night stay in an executive room through Expedia. Upon arrival we were allocated a standard room. I explained that we had paid for an executive room, and our room was switched. The executive room we were given had twin beds, and we had requested a double. I again went to reception and explained, and was told that a double room could not be guaranteed. I explained that I booked the trip four months prior to our arrival, and had requested a double room at the time of booking. We were told that an executive double would be available the following day, and that we could swap rooms then.
When we went back to the room we noticed a significant draft in the room due to the window not closing properly. We decided to put up with this as weâd be swapping rooms the following day. Later in the evening a significant amount of water started coming into the room through the window. We contacted reception who sent a member of the staff to our room to take a look. As the staff member was unable to fix the window, he preceded to stuff a number of hand towels into the gaps to stop the ingress of water. I asked if we could swap to another room in the hotel as this did not address the draft, which was making the room uncomfortably cold and noisy from the wind. We were told no as there were no rooms available, and advised to close the curtains. That night we had very little sleep. The following day we were not allocated another room until the afternoon.
The staff were unapologetic throughout, and this is not the level of service I would expect from a 4* hotel, hence my 2* rating.

i stayed here for 1 night , i took a family room with my friends , it was big room with comfortable beds , and amazing city view with panoramic window
the breakfast is good enough
it is not in the center but good location if you have a car , everything close to you

Disappointing hotel, name and price was giving an impression of good standard and itâs not really the case. Old fashion rooms, AC not working properly, no minibar, extremely bad wifi blocking vpn access and therefore any possibility to work!! Too crowed for the number of people at the reception or cleaning the tables for breakfast we had even to stand for a while before finding a table... i will not return
